I know.. It does irratate me when I see people blindly giving false information or at best information that is not factual. Maybe defoliating is bad in some mediums I am not sure and I will never tell anyone it is in that medium, you know why? I haven't done it to give someone advice in it, now in DWC I can as I grow in it.

I mean I am not against people stating misinformation or at least unveriable info, that someone else takes as gospel and spreads it more. I love most people can't think for themselves or believe it because someone said it. I mean the more people growing bad or medicine that is not to it's full potential makes me feel good as I know I am going on the right path. I used to be bright eyed and sucking up anything everyone told me, until I was intelligent enough to say what if, maybe this, or how about this.. I mean it's YOUR grow, make it so no matter what anyone else says.

The only time I chime in on someone's grow is when I see something I tried and had different/same results to let the poster know, never because someone told me like many here. Now this is a double edge sword as people generally believe what is told to them even more so if the cant think for themselves or are just lazy. This brings on the troll attacks, name calling or any other plethora of immature banter seen here. I am one to change my thought process to upon educated replies but usually they are just a bunch of trollish replies as no one wants to admit they are wrong or mislead. It is all good, my grows are more then I hoped for and are to the point now where I am tweaking and refine the grow rather then troubleshoot like many others.

Here is a list I can think of that I buck the normal in my grows:

Flush when I need or see fit (tried both not flushing and flushing) never a noticeable difference in smoke, taste or size/timeframe. So I tend to flush per say just to save nutes for 7 to 14 days at end. I usually am at 400ppm at end so it's close to nothing anyway. Most guys who NEED to flush for sure are the ones that don't know cannabis feeding per flowering stages and they tail off considerably after week 4, and most reasons why buds never form they are hammered withnutes at 1000ppm or more and burn up or stunt.

Defoliate. We went over this.

Cloning is straight aero cloner no dome, mats, humidity dome, gel or magic. Just cut set in and leave for ten days, I can't remember last clones who didn't root. I do use klh from dynagro...in reservior.

Thats all I can think of now.

Correct. Working in IT/IS field we use a lot of acronyms and when I state soup I mean the whole shabang in my reservoir. Like chicken noodle "soup" its not just chicken pieces, not carrots, not just noodles etc.. they whole thing is the soup. I hope that clears that up, and yea RO is reverse osmosis.

My tap water is 770ppm well water, probably not even safe to drink we never do, but I bought a cheap RO unit for like 70 bucks and its been taking my water to 10ppm from that and plants love it, so what ever! lol.

Yeah before reading your journal i never new about the aquashield, voodoo juice, etc... as of right now i am just using ro water and flora series. do you think i could use your soup the next time i change it or say when ever i get the ingredients and not shock or harm them? Here is my setup for BF Pinapple Chunk Fems.

500-1000 mh/hp adjustable cool tube
2 5 gal. dwc buckets
flora series nuts and this is what i have after 2 weeks the first fan leaves have some nutrient burn miscalculation on my part. lol 4x too muchAny suggestions what i could be doing different?

You picked a good guy to befriend ^_^. Those look a little young to be getting nutrients. Id back off till they form the 2nd set of true leaves.

yeah wasnt sure i was just going by what the bottle said 1/4 ml per gallon and i only have a little over 3 gallons in each so i went with just over .5ml this time after i flushed them for 3 days because i had put about 1.5 -2ml the first time. Sry buddha, didnt even think about posting my pics on your thread i started my own grow thread so not to contaminate yours with my grow lol.

Welcome and ya no problem, your guys look little young before I give mine nutes. If I do it would be 1/4 dosage or less for sure, I will show you a seedling that starts getting half nutes and they have 2 true nodes, I was over zealous too and started nutes too early when I started.

I have been using just Aquashield for my last 5 plants (little experiment) minus the Voodoo and they are just as robust white roots as with the Voodoo, so I can safely say "save your money on voodoo if you are running Aquashield" I run about 10ml per gallon with some sweet for food. AS is like fraction of cost of VJ so it makes no sense to run both or just Voodoo. I can chalk another product of AN to overpriced hype machine... bah.

I will post pics in a minute again as lights are just popping on in a few minutes, with me running plants longer per zues harvest thread I have a veg back up problem now with my Headband and (2) ChemDawgs waiting in the wings!!

No worries about the pics, as long as people don't flood it in here I could care less, this is a learning journey for everyone as this is my only and last journal trying to help someone out there that is like me, one to buck trends and apply common sense practical approach to growing without all the magic, voodoo, fallacies and other crap posted here and on the internet. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but if you don't think outside the box and try for yourself you will never know the truth, and with all the mis-information out there you need to see for yourself what is really true. Posting pics sometimes is the only medium that will get your specific issues across and I know that, so again no worries.

Yeah i am going to get some of that aquashield quick and just use that with the nuts i have now. Does the sweet have any effect on the taste of the final product or no? On a side note hope that ChemDawg turns out for you just had some last week i was happy with the results last long time. Peace.

Yes Aquashield will work with any nutrient line, its just compost solution for roots with beneficial bacterias. Sweet is just food, which you really need for the beneficials to thrive and multiply, without food they die off rather rapidly. I use only 2ml per 2 gallon bucket so I doubt it effects anything with the taste, its mainly for the Aquashield.

Yes I am excited about the chemdawg for sure, I have two vegging now that are almost big as my mother in flower, its crazy. I have no room yet, as I am holding off harvesting for the ripeness I want to see.

How come you don't make a tea with that aquashield? I am trying just aquashield like you in flower but it seems like the tea works just as well and with the tea you get 50 more times the servings from aquashield. What do you think?

Started reading your journal last night and finished this morning and I have to say, awsome work. I am leaving soil next grow and either going to DWC or RDWC and your journal has helped me quite a bit with the design I plan to make on my own. +1 to you brother.

I did.. the Heisenbergs tea. It worked ok, but it was a mess and it needed to be treated like another plant. I am for simplicity and less work not more, so I just tried Aquashield and Voodoo as you seen with great results as equal or better then the tea. Now I am just on Aquashield with similar results as with the Voodoo, so I am just running AS saving me money, time and work as the "tea" is pretty much garbage at 10-14 days.. and I never change my res in veg so I would have too then.

+rep to you and thanks for stopping. DWC or Hydro is pretty straightforward as long as you make the water number one priority as it is the life line per say of your plant and as always LESS is MORE.

Update 4.29

Well the Sugar Black Rose looks like its the first one "yellowing" off and trying to finish first it is day 54 in flower. The buds are filling in nicely but trichomes are still milky or clear, and I can see a change like a haze on the buds as if they are turning cloudy.



The Bubblegum is at 54 as well in flower and finishing as well with many yellowing leaves and filling in nicely. I think this may be a bit behind the SBR but not by much, both are running longer then I usually run my strains to test the post by Zeus in Harvesting section. I agree with his thought process so I am taking a blind leap and letting them run like he suggests, and hell it can't hurt any. As you see defoliating has really hurt my buds.. * sarcasm*

Well I didn't get any shots of Blue Cheese but it is coming right along with buds that are like granite, I shit you not this plant weighs a TON when I lift the lid, and when I touch them they are solid as granite and plumping up every day. Not a lot of hairs though has me puzzled, they are in there just not peaking out much.. or stretching. The smell, density and yield is awesome though, I will concentrate on this in a few days for an update. Looking like couple three weeks left.
