why wont led's work

in my opinion, no. nickfury is talking about using "led's only". you're using a hid lamp and supplementing it with led's. as I see it, this can only be helpful to the plants. it's not cost effective to buy led grow lights, but if you already have them, why not use them.

I have been fooling around with LED for about 6 months. I think they are a great suppliment for the veg cycle. They produce plants with very short internodes, very dense and bushy. The combination produces better veg plants than HID alone. Probably not worth the cash but if you want awesome plants they make a great combo. I tried them to cut down on electrical use and heat.
