Why won't it bulk just shoots up

For future reference, you could have tried 'LST', which would have inhibited it's upwards growth and made it more bushy. Too late now. Usually best with growing cannabis to learn stuff before growing rather than trying to respond to perceived problems.

That plants could still yield though, it certainly looks big enough. What light is it under? Has it started flowering? Female?

Genetics and environment are the reasons for everything with cannabis growing :).

If they are still vegging you could totally chop those all the way down to the bottom few branches to make them manageable. Then let those branches veg for a week or two before flowering.

Should have topped or done LST from the beginning, but you need stronger light, that would help make it bushy as well. It's just straining to get more light

Ya gotta train them; they will grow straight and upward if you don’t make them do otherwise. Learn about LST-ing; don’t be afraid to pinch in between the tallest nodes to get them growing sideways. It will fill out some more once it is flowering but I would top this and let it grow out some more. Try lowering hours of light to induce pre-flowering mode. Is this outdoors?

if auto top it or just bend the top branches over even better bend them till they crack and stay there - they can handle it do it all the - if photo do the same and lower the light to suit
