Why so many autoflower growers?

I looked at either running photos or autos in my grow space. I ran the figures on which style has the higher yield potential over 12 months and autos won by a lot.

I have one 2.5 X 2.5 X 5 tent and one 4 X 4 X 7 tent. And I have a small proportion tent that sits on top of the 2.5 X 2.5.

If I run a photo mother in the 2.5 X 2.5 I can root the clones and move to the bigger flower tent. With a dialled in fast flowering strain I could pull a yield and every 9-10 weeks.

If I propagate auto seedlings in the clone tent then move to the 2.5 X 2.5 for 4-5 weeks then into the flower tent to finish for another 5-6 weeks I can harvest my flower tent every 5-6 weeks.

Autos win out gram to gram over photos.

I know there are other variables which apply but the theory is sound. Pretty soon I'll get a diary up so you can see my methods.

And don't bother saying something like Autos are too small or not potent I'll tell you right now that your wrong. The genetics have come a long way since the Low Ryder. The interest in autos had pushed the breeders to develop some pretty amazing auto strains that can yield heavy top shelf bud.

I've got 4 ethos Pluto Cut Autos running 6 weeks in which are showing a lot of promise.

And you can't tell me that Ethos would release anything sub par on to the market

I've grown photos and autos. I grew the first generation autos outdoor. Lowryder and Shortryder was the thing in early 2000's. Quality was horrible and I've seen autos develop to be acceptable smoke.

But I'm not fooling myself saying Autos yield more or is more potent. That's why growers with experience laugh because we all been new to this and believing or smoke is the best shit around, it's not.

Everything with ruderalis in the genetic line will be less potent, heard rumours about autos outside of the ruderalis genetic line but I have to see it with my own eyes to believe it. Cheers!

A lot of growers think they are easier to grow. Terrible things for indoor as its nearly impossible to maximize the space and schedule.
Can work in a living room or bathroom though, so maybe good for legal one bedroom apartment grows?

Awful YouTube videos have fooled new growers into thinking that.

If you grow and train the plant properly you should be able to fill your space.

Those are in rough shape. The CO2 bag is worthless. Save your money before you buy another.
yeah I worked that out when I put a CO2 monitor in. Made the stupid mistake of trusting the wankers on Youtube who lie to rate these crappy things and take the kickbacks.

Not looking the best at the moment but just wanted to point out that Autos can fill out a tent. I've only been growing for a year so Inexperience with the Cream Cookies strain and unstable fast bud genetics gave me headaches. Some were deficient and others were overfed. The one in the back left corner is ready to chop about 2 weeks ahead of the others.

Had a really nice girl scout cookies from fast buds on my first grow so that's why I bought from them again. But it's the rep they have got instability is deserved, won't be going there again.

Have 3 ethos Pluto Kush which are just looking amazing at just under 6 weeks. And top right is a Fast buds Green crack. These will be going up to the flower tent very soon IMG20210304210602.jpg

I've had two autos that if grown alone I could have spread into at least a 4x4. There's no doubt if grown right with a decent auto breeder and strain you can easily fill a tent.

I keep seeing a lot of growers here, about 50% use auto flower Genetics, Why? I know what it is, don’t need a definition, just curious why so many choose to use auto flower seeds? Is it hard for you to make a plant flower?
A very large portion of this globe has a very short growing season. Autos in those places are the only option if outdoor.

The reason I considered them is the ability to not have to be on any particular light schedule. For someone on a hectic schedule it'd be ideal cause you can turn on the light do what needs to be done and put them back on the timer. No harm no foul they're auto's...

i dont get it either. its the difference of changing the light. maybe a little more planning. itd be better just to keep cloning and flipping to flower after week 3 and just.. changing the light schedule. no rudalis genes sign me up. i got an auto on accident but i still love her. some dude on here told me tho its easier for outdoors. which is true im still figuring how im gonna do this guerrila grow this summer. im thinking either autos, or clones and tarps to block the light to do 12/12 with no variables.

and while you are vegging for 3 months I've already pulled 3 p
aha...11 clones in a 4 x 4 is a 3 month veg? Its a good story but.
3 tent rotation and stuff. Some u tube clips on you tube.
Clones make sense hence why commercial guys use them.

the huge part is with seeds (any seeds) the variety is the blessing and the problem.
Clones are clones.
That's true but some breeders do a hell of a lot better at stabilising an auto strain than others.

I believe that if I hunt for the perfect strain to suit what I want I'll find it and I'll harvest a tent about every 7 weeks. Thats just not possible with photos

i dont think it will be possible to do that with acceptable results consistently. Not to mention clones are free and auto seeds are not, unless u do a seed run of cause.
Then u have the different feedings and growth stages of individual plants.

And u can most certainly harvest a flower tent of clones every 7 weeks like clock work for eva if u want to.

Theres a reason that indoor commercial growers dont use autos.
