why preflowering?

Hi All,
So I am on my thrid grow and will update my journal in a bit. I have 4 bagseeders in flower for about6 days now and 2 are showing sex one boy one girl.. KILLED the boy.

My question isn't on those plants though, they are under 400watt hps.

I have3 bigbuds under 5 42watt cfls. This is the first time I have had 2 grow chambers (actually 3 if you count my cloning shelf) and the first time I have used cfl's I noticed that they were all showing pre flowers, 2 boys and a girl.

IS THIS NORMAL? I have never seen it before (only thrid grow)
I pulled the boys. Is this because Of the CFL's? I did have about a week of 50 degree nights but the lights have been on 24/7. I added a little heater with a thermostat to regulate the heat better.

are the big buds (under the CFLs) from clones? if so, then it makes sense that they are showing sex.. pre flowers...


6 days is very very fast for a female plant to show its sex.. how old were they when you flowered (how long were they vegging for?)

When you say you pulled the boys, do you mean killed them?
I would have waited until they fully showed there sex before i made any drastic moves like that!
