Why my Growing Water are beginning to Smell Rotten?

I piss of so much I bought a 30 liter Tank to store there my nutrients solution and I mix canna Coco A&B, cal/mag, pk and pH down to it and after 2 days the RO water solution smelling rotten why is that? I do it bevore in 12 liter tank without any problems... Maybe the PK ore PH down? With PK the PH hanging hard i need 6ml of ph down to bring the pH to 6.0!
 
Literally just had smelly water today. I use lemon juice to adjust my pH slightly, I always leave the water in the room to get to room temp. Today it was so smelly. No clue why.

With all your nutrients sitting in water, you're growing bacteria, mold and other micronasties.

Don't ever use lemon juice to lower pH. It becomes alkaline when broken down. Don't use organics if you want the solution to store well.

A mixed solution isn’t supposed to just sit. It needs to have an air stone in it. Moving the water constantly & adding o2. Don’t feed that sludge to your plants.

I've had nutrients mixed in jugs for weeks at a hand, no aeration. If you have a stable solution it's not a problem. Chlorine is used globally as a sterilizing agent. 0.5ppm residual is enough for storage if there's no organics in the solution.

I don't now why maybe the PK Nutes the problem? If i add pk the pH is hard to drop I need a lot of ph down to bring it to 6.0

Oh that’s new for me. Though I haven’t done anything of the sort, I’ve read mixed things all over. If you’re saying it’s something you’ve done.. I’d run with that info. Thanks.

Gotta keep large amounts of water moving some way or it will...stagnate.

I use air stones that aerate the reservoirs, keep the water moving, help evaporate chlorine because its tap, and eliminate the growth of harmful bacteria.

This is more than true. Once the water has nutrition in it for bacteria to thrive on its game time. Lots of nutrient lines come with artificial sugars like dextrose mixed in which will attract bacteria and breed it fast.

I personally mix only what I need anymore, so for example if you know you won't need 20 gallons maybe mix a 5 gallon batch and mark your bucket so that you can use it up without having it sitting and stagnating.

I agree! I only mix nutrients into what I am going to use immediately.

I did a quick look around and couldn't get a definitive list of ingredients in the CannaCoco A+B 'system.' All very hush hush. ;) I do see they list fulvic and humic, so I'd give it a 50/50 that there's some other organics involved that are creating a great space for microbe growth.

But if you do read their copy, they talk about how it needs to be home mixed for use because otherwise it gets slimy...that would be some kind of tip off to me that it's not super happy to sit around. There's could also be other factors involved like if the rez is open or sealed, if there's light getting to the water or not. We've already established that there's no air stone involved.

I do mix up my nutrient/water base a day or two ahead of time (to dissolve the powder), but it's all salt based and it's in 1g jugs that I cap right off. Any organics involved, I put in minutes before watering and any of that doesn't stay around if there are leftovers...right down the drain.
