why is the plant tall ?

If you don't want it very tall.. keep the light as close as possible and when between light and dark periods keep a close watch so the temperature doesn't change very rapidly.
There's lots of methods to stunt the plant.. topping is one where the top of the plant is stunted while the bottom branches grow out.. but there's all sorts of methods you can use to mess with your plant. Search around.

I like 18-6 also, gives my grow a chance to cool down with added summer heat, afternoon hrs off. It also gives ur lites, and other equip. a break. Using CFL, keep lites close, HID lites 400W , keep about 18" away. Some strains are going to stretch, topping these works best, as said.

18/6 will give u a taller plant and 24/0 will give u a tighter plant... i run on 20/4.. was it from seed, clone??? do u know anything about the genetics??? indica,sativa??? how far were ur lights??? putting them closer will tighten things up but ut still gonna have that tall trunk... u could always supercrop it or top it to ur bottem 2 nodes, drop the light and let it produce 4 new branches that u could grow tighter and root the top u cut off of it

yes my plants was from seed and unfortunately i don't know about genetics.my light is 250 w hps and is 20 inch far from plants. and i am so sorry i didn't understand rest of them

ok i will give 24 hours light but when will plants sleep? my light is far 20 inch from plants.

Your plants dont need sleep......my veg room is 24/7 all year except summer because of heat.......put your light as close as possible....if your light is too close your plants will let you know......

You can but I would not advise it..............usually 1 plant will compete with the other for root space.......though I have seen it done successfully,but with very small plants.......all in all it it is not ideal...
