Why is my RAW so harsh???

I got some raw distillate type stuff that is really harsh and has a pepper after taste and burns the nose, I've been smoking it in vape cartridges, does anyone have any idea why it would be so harsh and what I can do to fix it? I added terps and it didn't help with harshness, if I ran it in a short path distillation could I remove whatever is causing the harshness?? If it's a high sulfur content can I use pennies and ISO to remove it??

Whenever I get distilled products it always seems to be a light color with very smooth smoke. But I'm no expert on it just my 2 cents maybe they skipped a step or didn't refine it all the way.

How was it extracted?

It probably isnt distillate at all. Probably bho sap. Maybe full of solvent and fats/waxes/lipids. Might have been made with poor quality starting material as well. Did you stick that jar under vacuum with heat to see if it reacts at all? Idk? Did u prime the cartridges? That's all I got. Good luck. Hope you salvage it and find your answer.
