Why is my plant growing out and not up?

I am having some problems with this autoflowering critical + plant, it's first 2 weeks were stunted because I was growing it under a 14k (purple) 125w CFL and it barely grew at all. Now that I have put it under a 125w 6400k CFL and it has exploded since then in the last 6 days. However in this time it has only increased in height from 3 inches to 4.5 inches. As you can see in the pics it has grown much wider and thicker, is there any reason for it to not be growing upwards? The leaves are starting to curl up because there is no room for them to grow outwards, and the plant is about 6 inches away from the bulb. Also there are 4 nodes so far and they are very close together (maybe 1/8th" at most).I've never seen a plant grow like this before so any help is appreciated.

some autos never get taller than 6", you could have three seeds from same pack and have two at 2' plus and one 6" plant. it looks healthy

So basically auto's are a waste of time indoors? I was planning on doing a photoperiod plant next when I get a grow tent, done an auto this time because I didn't have much room, but didn't know they grew that small.

Make sure you keep it under 24/0 to get the most out of its short veg stage.
I've been doing 20/4 all it's life, would it hurt it if i changed to a different schedule? And how will I know when to switch it to flower?

Its fine with nothing to worry about, looks perfectly normal too me. Just give her a few weeks and be patient. Its an Auto right? Keep her on 20/4 from start to finish...........

Nope shouldnt hurt it to switch. Some autoflowers like the shorter light schedual to. And u dont have to worry about flipping it after veg. Thats y ots an autoflower. Itll do it for u naturally. Just keep ur light cycle going and wait a few weeks. Itll flip itself and start budding quick after 2-3 week veg state. Plant looks really good man dont get upset about it. Real compact and tight. U should get some real good bud off it.

I also have one that looks like yours, short and fat short leaves. Don't have a clue what kind it is. just from the container of seeds, random just seeds.
But it has a real nice smell to the tops. No buds yet though. we shall see. funny thing is, I had three palnts, one turned to the dark side(Hermafridyt) and it spread to the one three ft. tall one also. BUT this short fat little plant-unaffected, luckily it's safe, or resistant??

Herms don't "spread to another one" retard. Its caused by stress, its not a disease that plants spread to eachother. If you bring a herm plant into a room with another plant, the second plants isn't going to turn ito a herm. It will be pollinated by the herm and grow seeds. You just had to hermies. The third wasn't.

Lol I know right? Take a fucking biology class to whoever thinks hermies spread.

That's like saying I hung out with a hermaphrodite and now I have a vag to go along with my penis. Lololol

It might shoot up another 1.5' or it may not. i had 3 easy ryders. two were over 18" one was only 6". the short one had denser nugs and stronger too.
