good question, it sure does a good job on my wifes flowers,,, some say it gives a bad tastes,, hence why hydro guys flush, but, and I know i will catch hell for saying this, i have seen some really sweet plants grown in it,,,
but I personally use ffof but fox farms costs 11 bucks a bag at the local hydro store

Cannabis will grow in MG and similar products. However, it is not an optimum medium. The main reason cannabis growerz tend to go with other mediums is MG is not very canna-friendly. Almost all of their products have time released water activated nutrients, so every time you water, you also feed. Besides that there is the whole Monsanto thing...not good.
Anyway, like I said MG will grow cannabis. But I consider it to be the Mc Donald's of soil. Sure a big mac will fill your stomach...but wouldn't you like a nice steak instead??

The normal "Blue" MG fert. does work...The ratio is 3-1-2 (24-8-16) and that's good....The bad part is the rest of it (as in micro's) and Ca/Mg are not balanced for Cannabis! The soil is even way worse! You have very little "control" in a MG soil....AVOID at all costs!
Scotts - the Monsanto branch that is MG. Stated - flat out. That it's MG products ARE formulated to screw with Cannabis growing! This was in a press interview at the announcement of their buying G&H and that they were trying to calm down G&H users as they were not going to "reformulate or cancel" any G&H lines that were "aimed at cannabis cultivation" to be "like" MG products.
Now then. If you use that MG "blue" powder.....You should be getting better and more stable results by adding the use of a Kelp extract and some Ca/Mg....I "would" pH my feed solutions to 6.5 in veg and 6.7 in bloom before any use.....1/4 to no more then 1/2 strength and feed, water, feed, water, feed, water alternating.....I would look towards an every 2 days watering timing.
This is where I would start with MG ferts.....adjust as needed from 1/4 strength up.

You're kidding right?. Is there some sort of premium grade Urea?.. or Copper sulfate?.
The problem with MG is where its used, its mostly in gardens with low organic matter, thats why the N number is high. Cannabis gardens tend to use soils that are high in organic matter, so MG tends to burn plants because of its high N profile. Or is "unbalanced" for most of the gardens we run.
When you have premium soils high in organic matter your N requirement changes, this is where people have problems with MG.

I had a bag of MG "herb and vegitable" blend I got some MG perlite and MG peat moss and mixed it up. soil is nice! We will see.

However I started using their Natures Care line of organic garden soil and I am having awesome results. The roots look amazing and white. It's a very fluffy and aerated soil.
So, like any commercial product, you just gotta know what you are looking for. If you want a nice basic line up of nutrition try General Organics line. The grow and bloom will work if you wanna minimize cost but I recommend the Go Box. My plants love this stuff.

Strong?. depends on your soil. Sandy loam with little to no organic matter, its just fine. MG is made for people using crappy soil wiht nitrogen loving crops. All purpose food it is not.

Makes ok looking buds but kills yeild having nitro tox all threw flower mg moister control was not real real bad in veg but flower they sucked the pots dry so fast that I had to choose between dehydration or more toxicity I can say that it never burned nitro tox like hell ya burned no

Yep, you are correct. It does depend on the soil. Though, most people buy potting soil that has plenty of nutes (hence you get the burn or toxicity issues with new growers)
Like I stated previously, you gotta do a little research and have an understanding of your grow variables.
