Why is John Legend so damn good?

Seriously though John Legend is a tremendous musician. Not even the genre of music I typically listen to but I'm just loving it. I grew up in highschool listening to gangsta rap, u know PAC and biggie etc. then moved onto hip hop like Wu Tang, common, del, mos def, mf doom, etc. so my pandora on the common channel brings me to John Legend. I immediately liked it. Plus it's literally made the ladies melt when you put it on. Helped me get laid twice!
