Why is Bat Guano tea not registering as fertile on meter?

:wall:When I use my combo PH/Fertility meter to compare the fertility of my Mexican Bat Guano (3 tab/per 1 gal water) and Miricle Grow mixed in water, the Miricle Grow mixter shows I'm in a good fertility range while the Bat Guano says the mixture is not fertile at all- The Bat Guano tea is PH balanced - but it's not registering as fertile. Why?

Fertility meter? That's a new one to me.:?:

Never even heard of one, much less seen one, and if it tells you Miracle Grow is fertile and Bat Guano isn't, sounds about as useful as tits on a bull.

Perhaps it only measures chemicals and not organics?

I'm pretty sure those things measure ion content. The compounds in the guano may need to be chelated by microbial life in the soil before it will measure on the meter.

Found out that your right Wetdog. Miracle Grow reads as fertile because the elements the meter is looking for are there in inorganic form. The bat guano has all the elements but probably locked up in organic compounds, not so easy for the meter to read. I'm told that the organic stuff is better for the soil, than the inorganics. Thanks Wetdog.
