Why insects do not (and cannot), attack healthy plants

Prof Zhang just got a $20 million grant to found a killer drone institute, thats what gets you research money.

What kind of snake oil is the good doctor peddling here?

A reason to have healthy plants would be my guess. If more than just healthy plants, I think a Brix meter to measure the health of your plant in a scientific manner. ( https://www.amazon.com/V-Resourcing...919011&s=industrial&sr=1-17&wIndexMainSlot=32). Not his link, just a cheap one on amazon I saw with good reviews, probably be worth it to get a nicer one though for anyone that wants more accurate readings.

Old short thread on here with someone that was using a Brix meter, telling how they used it. Edit; didn’t put the link and lost now. Lul

The general idea is a healthy plant will be able to produce more volatiles/alkaloids and will therefor be less favorable or tasty to a pest than a less healthy plant. However it doesn’t mean that a healthy plant won’t be bothered by pests, it’s just not their first option. That’s not from the video that’s from general plant biology.

Brix meters are easy enough to use and you don't have to buy the pro models to be accurate. Just a refractometer gauged for sugars instead of something like alcohol.

You could have the healthiest plants on the planet but if you get mites in there you got problems nonetheless.

Lol, why do people who know better use such click baity titles? Ain’t even gotta watch it to know it basically just says healthy plants are more resistant to pest damage and that more bugs are attracted to dead, dying or decaying material than healthy.
