The question is " Why Hydro", not why is automation in hydro better. If you have an understanding of what you're trying to accomplish, it may well be.. For the 52% of Americans in the USA who can't read at a sixth-grade level, simple hydro is very easy and very effective. Almost all humans adapt to simple direction, and a monkey see, monkey do approach.. And it's a lot cheaper.. That said, Hooray for your side..

Is the fact that automation is easier in hydro, not itself a reason? It's one of my main reasons, but love to hear other people tell me my thoughts.

Why Hydro? - Easier to monitor/control environment variables to get plants, bigger faster.
