hey guys , i was just wondering why this has happened.
i germinated a seed and had a small plant and kept it indoors for 5 days and when it got its first leafs i thought it was time to put it outside which i done yesterday. I have just gone back in to my garden and it has collapsed and died. why do you think it has done this ?:-?

It probably wasn't ready to be outside yet.

I'd say start your seedlings in a plastic, cheap cup-planter (they're not too large, but large enough for the root system to dev. nicely) wait a few weeks (or unitl the roots begin to peak out the holes in the bottom) and what I do is b/cuz its just a cheap plastic starter-planter type thing, I cut it away gently after slightly watering the soil (helps it bind together nicely) then transplant it where-ever. When I did this, it was great I didn't break a single root-- no shock at all for my plant :)-- just be careful and go slowly.

Your plant should be, id say around 5-6 inches or so-- I mean use your discretion, if you feel the plant has a good amount of leaves and seems strong -- prob ready.

This is just my experience, I feel it works well for myself, so hopefully it helps ya out.

Good luck

As an example---

I attchted a photo of how large my plant was when i transplanted.l I thought it was just the right size-- for me anyways lol....

I can count the amount of sunny weekend on one hand :(... the weather is like 17 degrees... if that! totally sucks...we were robbed of our summer only to endure another long, brutal winter... F*ck I hate the weather... lol

the sun is strong, you need to gradually expose it to full sun, keeping it in the shade for a couple of days then put it in full sun.
