I did have a buddy who dabbled at growing and failed epicly, he gave me a bag and I kep asking, why dose this shit tast lime soap, finaly I figured it out, ass hole was soaking everything with insectaside and raid the day before harvest.

Anaerobic fermentation. It was bricked/packaged too wet..
nitrogen sugars cellulose, starch, etc breaking down with the high moisture content. It begins to ferment. releases ammonia and acids giving the foul odor.
