Why Don't Dehydrated Buds get me high?

The taste was shit, but i threw a big bud in the nesco dehydrator and then put it into my bowl after about 10 hours on low. Was only a super mild high that didn't last long..maybe 30 mins as best. Wasn't even worth bothering for

Shouldn't bud get me high regardless of how it's dried? Obviously I'll dry my other stuff the right way

THC degrades by heat, light, and even too much air flow. Using a dehydrator is not a good idea at all! Hang dry your buds very slowly and cure them for at least 2 weeks, then smoke!

I don't know about the air flow thing. People run fans directly on their plants for months at a time with no potency loss

Light, heat degrade THC after its cut.
Curing increases potency.
Tastes will come from proper processing or risk smoking hay.
Bud cut during the light cycle will have already loaded N for the day and have shetty taste when cut and speed dried.

Don't use that dehydrator on the crop again.
Next time pick a decent size bud and control dry it for a day or 2.
I pick buds off and never really get faded just get an idea of flavour taking into account of the horror I just committed.

i always have wondered how freeze drying cured bud would go. that way i can have weed for the apocalypse. 20 plus year shelf life.

Dude. I sold commercial brick weed to a Vietnam vet. When he got some he liked he froze some of it.
One day he was going into the hospital and thought he might not make it. He asked me to take all these little numbered sampled out of his freezer so his family wouldn't find it. He said to try some of a certain number that I sold him 8 months earlier. It did indeed get me high.

not freeze dry not dehydrated

Maybe put some more in your belly button dude.

Sounds to me like your dehydrator degraded your bud somehow.

I mean after harvest.

running a fan over harvested bud works the same way running a fan on your plants works- it mobilizes the humid air that is in higher concentrations directly around the leaves/bud and brings in less humid air to in the case of the plant aid in co2 uptake, and in the case of harvested bud to dry the outside of the bud so you can jar it. the air moving over the bud doesn't hurt it unless you over-dry, in which case that bud cannot be cured.

I'm going to train the fan on the tent wall and just let it bounce off. Sound good?

Never put a fan directly on your harvested buds, unless you have a VERY humid environment! There is a difference between having a good air flow and putting a fan on buds!

Like I said, buds need oxygen in drying/curing process, but too much exposure to air will degrade THC and other cannabinoids/terpenes.

I was under the impression most don't have air blowing directly on the buds because it can cause them to dry to fast.

Having a fan in the same room as your drying buds is fine. I've read that having a fan blowing on your buds will cause them to dry to quick though.

I always do that. I have a decent amount of air flow in my rooms, but I never put a fan directly on plants.

Shit I have negative pressure in my tent so air is exchanging. I don't even need to blow the fan on the wall right?
