Agreed.A wide, shallow pot will make for a wider plant. A pot would make for a taller plant in the same amount of soil. Manufacturers make, for instance, 5 gallon pots in both wide, and tall versions. The tall pot would make less branches and shoot upwards. The wide pot will grow outward. I'd love a raised fabric bed with drippers, but doesn't work with what I currently have going on.
