What a great thread idea! I'm sorry you broke your back, I hope you've recovered fully!I started growing to save money and to "clean up" my bags..trash,seeds and big sticks so to speak. I started with "commercial" bag seed then some bag seed from locally grown "higher grade" product. I just recently ordered seed from the UK...huge difference from what I've grown before ! Got to love "quality" genetics !!! Now I grow more for fun and medicinal purposes (I broke my back in a work related accident) and really don't like opiates that Dr.s prescribe...I don't want that addiction !! Reading the forums on RUI it seems people grow for many different reasons (breeding new strains..bettering current strains...being a caregiver and what not. I'm intrested in why others grow and what brought you to the world growing...so if anyone would like to share their thoughts or comments I would love to hear them..lol..read them ! Have great day and happy growing .
My wife actualy said that to me lasr night she's always talkin bout facebook never been in to it. she said riu is my facebookThis is off topic but the heck with Facebook I have RUI !!
Yep, you should use your knowledge and grow organic lettuce outdoors! thatll help people too! What a great thread idea! I'm sorry you broke your back, I hope you've recovered fully!
I grow because I can't do anything else. I've tried; I went to college, got a business degree, started my own business, the whole nine yards...
And because it wasn't growing weed, I was miserable.
Growing- or in my case developing systems and technologies for growing it indoors more efficiently- is what I was put on the Earth to do... I'm not religious, I don't believe in fate. BUT- when the peg fits the hole, you go with it, you feelin' me?
Everyone in my life tells me I have great gifts and that I can be successful doing anything I try. I've seen many jobs and tried plenty of them. I can't do a job that might end up hurting somebody, like selling cigars or stocks.
So, This is what I do. It's the only thing I can do and still live with myself, because I know my work helps people now as a caregiver and will help many more in the future by helping feed them affordably and safely.
As luck would have it, I'm speaking to some local restaurateurs about hydroponic herbs and veggies from the rooftop patio area of their establishment. We'd grow them in vertical setups and would place them around as if they're merely decorative plantings... but of course they'd be on the menu.Yep, you should use your knowledge and grow organic lettuce outdoors! thatll help people too!
Nice...if you want to run a little bit more cost effective way to grow greens you should look into aquaponics...pretty cost effective plus the restaurants could use the fresh fish tooAs luck would have it, I'm speaking to some local restaurateurs about hydroponic herbs and veggies from the rooftop patio area of their establishment. just...yes.its kind of an addiction hard to stop once you start
i see a empty space and think, i could fit a few plants there .. every empty space should have some weed plants filling it
Yeah I told my wife "I only need this ,that and the third" but have been slowly upgrading the whole time ! LolMy wife is a MM patient and smokes a ridiculous amount of pot. I started growing less than a year ago thinking we'd save money. If I can somehow get myself to stop upgrading my lights and other equipment, someday we might actually break even (relative to what were spending at dispensaries). I do love the process though, from all sides. I love growing plants, and I love the 'science' of trying to optimize an environment and make a plant so healthy that it produces an insane amount of flowers. I also like that we know the bud is pesticide free, that's become a big issue lately with the med grown stuff.
