Why Do We Smoke?

i work two jobs...roughly 12/15 hours a day depending on the day of the week. I can't sleep without it. If i don't smoke i sleep like shit. Without sleep i run into depression issues and eating issues. And with my choice of employments there are about two months a year that i can't smoke because of UA's. And those two months sucks hairy donkey balls. My wife is bi-polar...the drugs they try to put her on make her suicidal, pot on the other hand just puts her on a even keel.

I grow because i have bills to pay, i put out 400 bucks out front and i've grow for the last two and half years off that 400 bucks. Its just economical. That and its relaxing, pot is a beautiful plant and just looking at it puts me in a good mood.

Weed takes the edge off and helps me relax. My brain is like a run away freight train all of the time. Smoking some weed helps it slow down so I can focus on one thought at a time. Without weed I feel like an axe wielding homocidal maniac.

Something like the top four leading causes of death in our country are stress-related. Herb lowers stress. It takes it away! Sure, I could meditate, but that requires a discipline that few people have at all times. Besides its medicinal value, from severe nausea and pain relief, to simple everyday stress relief, the act of growing can be so therapeutic that it could, on certain scales, be classified as a stress treatment itself.

I agree with whoever said that they enjoy whatever is in front of them, though I am particularly partial to spliffs. But the vaporizer is my workhorse, and should be the workhorse of every heavy smoker, because the carcinogens it eliminates give miles of credibility to the idea of pot as a medicine. It is this technology that will enable me to smoke until I die, of something other than cancer.

I hear alot of crazy shit in my job and have been through alot of crazy shit growing up. I help people figure out how to feel better who have had the same experience. Cannabanoid receptors in the brain are the mechanism by which we forget.
A little puffer in the evening helps me slow down and appreciate the moment and whats here to enjoy right now. Most of my friends who do my type of work either smoke or meditate extensively.
It also lets me get into jams with the band without effort. Take a toke... drummer starts pounding away and bam your there with every culture throughout the universe who communicated with rhythm and sound. Plugged in...
We need a Zen smiley symbol.

smoking helps me relax after a long day at work and in the mornings when my stomach is not feeling the best.... i really do believe it is a medicine and helps many things. honestly, smoking it doesn't really get me high anymore unless i smoke like 2 or 3 grams in 1 session.... it just makes me feel normal. :x

I have done it for years and I have always loved it. I am in my 30's now an have kids so I don't sit there and smoke all day. I put the kids to bed, then take out my 18" glass bong and watch tv or fool around with the wife. I have recently injured my back at work (2 bulging disks) and the only thing that dulls the ache is pot. Why is this stuff illegal? I don't drink at all so it's all I have. It's a sunday afternoon and I am all alone at home so Maybe I'll go smoke now. Later.

yea hemp will save the world......thats why i smoke. c'mon dude is your circle of life that small and niave that you really think that weed will save the earth? wow...public schools really do suck! to paraphrase george carlin (if you even know who that is) i got news for ya, after billions of years of surviving ice ages, meteor strikes, global floods, hurricanes, expoding volcanoes, earth quakes, and a whole bunch of other crap, the world aint goin anywhere....we are!

God damn, who are you calling the dumbass???

To let you in on a secret, I went to private school, graduated with honors, then went to the most prestigious architecture school in the country... Not to mention that I'm a member of MENSA. And yes, I've seen Carlin in person 3 times, RIP.

If you're so smart, you'd realize that hemp could grow way more fiber per year than cotton per acre. And the logging industry would have nothing against hemp for lumber and building materials.

If you wanna come into a conversation, and do a complete off topic attack on a knowledgable grower... Go right ahead, it's a free world. But, just to let you know you're an ignorant dickhead. :finger:

Maybe when I said save the world, I meant save the destruction of earth by the human race.

Ever heard of Jack Herer?

Read the Emperor Wears no Clothes?

I have an autographed hemp bound copy you can borrow, then you'll be able to contribute to conversations without being a total dick.

hemp provides 600x more fiber per acre then cotton =D

makes you wonder why in the FUCKING world we dont use hemp eh?

Sure does... Makes you wonder how much the cotton industry pays the government to continue to prosecute cannabis.

It all started back in the begining of the industrial age, the cotton gin was invented before the hemp thrasher, and cotton was the mainstay for most clothing because of this.

A few years later a hemp processing machine was invented, and didn't have too great of success because cotton was first, making tons of cash, and they didn't want any competition.

If people realized how much more durable and stronger hemp is than cotton, and the fact you can grow 600% more of it per acre... You'd think cotton wouldn't stand a chance... Right?

I smoke in order to make sense of the world... And it doesn't work.

Cannabis can save the world because:
1.It creates a lot of oxygen and cleans the air.
2.It can heal.
3.It is a valuable resource that can provide food and clothing for the poor and the third world.
4.It could make all of these alcoholic blinkered drunken politicians actually think about what they are doing.
5.Many,many jobs all around the world.
6.Sort a lot of "normal" peoples heads out and open their minds from their blanketed matrix style wooley eyed thinking.
7.Makes people think twice before they do something stupid or cruel.

I cant think of anything else right now but i am sure there is plenty more:mrgreen:

also, if marijuana were legal, it would save the United States alone, 75 BILLION dollars, due to the DEA not having to be dick's and all that... and all the people in jail for marijuana charges...

If all Illegal drugs became legal, it would save the United States 265 Billion Dollars a year. But I for one am not down for making meth legal, or heroin legal....

It absorbs toxins from the soil, making the soil better for farming.

Hemp seed oil could run all the construction equipment in use right now in this country.

Hemp rope can hold 20x (or more) the weight of the same thickness of cotton rope.

Hemp clothing is more durable, less replacements, less waste.

Hemp is 100% biodegradable, unlike polyester blends.

Hemp has a higher insullation rating than fiberglass...

The list goes on and on and on...
