Why do we pay when don't have a choice?

I just had a thought...

Nobody has a choice on where they're born or even being born in general. Nobody has a choice in the fact that shelter is pretty essential for survival.

Yet we have to pay to keep a roof over our heads or be forced to live on the streets, where you can be arrested for vagrancy.

vagrancy - noun
Definition : The state of living as a vagrant; homelessness.

Aside from paying to take up space in the place we were forced to come into existence in, we also have to pay taxes for the privilege of not dying from exposure.

I get that there are homeless shelters and programs to help people in hard times. That people abuse the system to avoid honest work, as well as better living conditions should cost more.

But think of this. There are more empty and abandoned houses in the USA then there are homeless people. In my old neighborhood 1-4 houses were empty.

Just something to think about I guess.

No one has a choice no, but when they are mature enough they can set out into the world and change their atmosphere. If you dont want to live in the environment you are in , simply move to another country and enjoy your culture shock. Or you could go live in the Hoh forest with Mick runing around barefoot eating grass and shit

Not all homeless people are bums.
Alot of homeless people were displaced because their jobs were taken by imports or perhaps they had medical issues.
I am not allowed to work and live on the brink of homelessness. I would much rather work but i physically cant. Cant move or find any help either so the problem isnt usa specific.

Theres no reason for any livable home to be empty and everytime i drive by an abandoned place i ask the same question as the op
