Why do we flush?

Is it for taste? Is it to remove the nutes? What advantages does it really have?

I have done it with and without flushing. I hardly see a difference. Somebody, Please convince me why I need to do it.

Flushing makes sure that you're not smoking chemicals. Without flushing, the nutrients will remain in the buds, thus causing a rough and unhealthy smoke.
