Why do they refer to Cannabis as a weed?

fairly recent

The younger generation were probably stepping away from their parents “pot” use, and coined the lexicon “weed” as the new-age word.
It was called weed when I was a lad back in the 70's, and I think it goes all the way back to the 30's. I'm pretty sure there is a reference to weed in the movie Reefer Madness.

Drill a 3/4 or 1" hole about 6inches deep into the stump the vines come up out of and either buy poison stakes from a landscape supply shop or pick your favorite herbicide and top up the hole every now and then. I had to do this to several nasty grapevine as they had become infected by something and were attracting a ton of nasty bugs.

This is assuming that it won't affect any other crops in the area.
Someone else recommended diesel. It is a shame as I don't have a diesel car.... (actually looking for a BMW 5 series diesel)

That's an old farmers remedy to stumps. Drill a hole, mix up some diesel and fertilizer, add a cap. No more stump.

Maybe I can try that line when I try to convince my wife. I already had to sell my 525i this year as it drinks like a fish. Can't decide between E34 and E39 though. I like the older one more, but it is more hassles.

I've never heard that diesel fuel on it's own will dissolve a stump. There are some agents that will, but they require a lot of time.

What i was alluding to is an explosive. Farmers would make an ied and blow the suckers to the next county.

If you're gonna drill that many holes you might as well just connect them all to one going down in the center and burn it out. My grandpa did it with like a 3-4ft diameter stump using one of those 3 foot long augurs(like 1.5" dia) and an electric drill or impact. If they all connect you add a bit of fuel and light it, it pulls air in the sides and the flame comes up the middle. It'll take a while to burn though, something like at least a day more if it's big, it burns out a decent chunk of the bigger roots too.

Yeah, did that. I had a big ass drill bit 24 inches long. Drilled deep as I could and poured out killer to stop the little trees from growing all over but it didnt help to decompose the stump.

Think we need a new section for stump removal.

We have fire rules here in the desert, can't do that here.
