Why do people use Autoflowers after their 1st grow?

I dont get it - autoflowers are faster ? But everybody can veg for how long they want, if you have strain flowering for 8 weeks and you add 2 weeks veg thats pretty much the same.

Double the time an auto takes but use a photo, unless you don’t know what you’re doing you’ll get more than double the flower. So maybe faster in very short term, go past two grows and you’re in the red

Without going back and reading 23 pages worth of autoflower debate on RIU... I think there's at least one good case for autos outdoors if you live in northern latitudes and want something to finish quickly before the weather screws you. I know a few guys that like to breed autos, mainly just for fun, so there's that. Truth is this is a fascinating plant and growing them is fun be it photo auto fem whatever. If autos are someone's thing there's no shame in it. Do you.
