Why do people buy seeds?

Maybe my case is unique. My first clone after getting mm card was ATF. Now why would I want to buy seeds when I can clone that? It would be like buying down. That is why I keep cloning what I have. But I do have a few seeds a friend gave me to try.

weed is weed, i smoked a lot, and maybe i havent come accross bad weed to know there is bad weed, but to me, weed is weed. I don't want to get to know my pots name, i just want to smoke it. -.-;;

yup vidman...the tolerance thing does come into play and is something to consider when taking comments to heart about a strain, cutting or seed offering. What gets one guy wasted doesn't always floor someone else the same way.

I like a variety...especially when it comes to taste. Should we taste the Blueberry, the Cherry slyder, the spicy EZ sativa, or the thai-like/sweet tasting Blowfish...etc...etc...etc???. We have 16 different flavors here right now...and I LAUGH at anyone who says they aren't different. (who's still buying schwag, obviously!)

Boy do I hear a lot of crazy shit around here. Are you saying that all seeds from dealers are from hermies?? Or, are you saying that all seeds from a dealer form hermies???

I don't know where you buy your seeds but you need to find a better dealer!

Seeds are in no way expensive, some cost more than others. Sometimes i've wondered why seeds dont cost more than what they do.

2 exapmles.
get some really expensive seeds from somewhere, lets say they cost 200 dollars for regular un-fem. so you get 10 seeds, say 5 are male. so thats 40 dollars a viable plant, you could let a male pollenate a female and get lots more seeds of the same variety and know what they are, you could just grow the plants out and say you get 2 oz a plant, 2 oz plants for 40 dollar each seeds and they the most expensive. Clone them and you've made more than your money back.

get some decent genetics from a cheaper seedbank, not quite as good genetics maybe an f2 cross, they cost 40 dollars for 10, get 5 fems thats 8 bucks a seed and follow the above directions and its clear to see why seeds are cheap really.

I like to spend the time deciding what to grow, looking at the seedbanks figuring out which strains going to be for me, then growing it and looking forward to the taste and flavour. Then doing it all over and always having something different to smoke. The thc levels are always high i just select what flavour.

Hey Mogie!

You must like a couch lock high huh? That ATF stuff I hear will put your ass right to bed! lol

I have my favorites for different reasons.

1. Ok so I have to sit through another very long ass boring meeting, I can't appear to wasted to the suit's and I have to pay attention, even though I own the damn company. Easy choice here: Colombian Gold.

2. Can't get to sleep at night, or I'm hitting the OZZ Fest. Once again easy choice: White Widow.

3. Early Morning hours: Panama Red

4. Afternoon with the family at the zoo: Blueberry, bubblegum, or Durban Poison x Skunk.

5. Out of state friends who came from low altitude to high altitude and want to tour our mountains: Mexican Sativa.
After friends have been here a week and have adjusted to the higher altitude, then I break out only the best for them.

See where i'm going with this!

This is why I like different weeds. But what the hey, that's me!

Maybe you don't get high very often.

Wish I had that problem. I used to think I was burned out till some one broke out the good stuff. That was when I learned there was a differance.

On a more serious note, maybe what Al is really trying to say is that he doesn't care if the weed has a "flavor", as long as he gets stoned. Generally, I would agree with that. Personally, I will smoke any high-grade weed. I really don't care what it's called or what color it is. As long as the THC content is high and it's properly cured (low chlorofill and no chems = no headaches afterwards), I like it.

Just please please don't tell me the shitty $50 bagweed is the same or will get you just as high for just as long as the $120 weed. Any fool who's smoked more than one joint knows there is a huge difference.

Why would you cross such an inferior plant with a superior strain? An experiment? Was it worth it? I have bagseed and was contemplating a cross with some good seeds just to experiment but I was afraid the cross wouldn't be worth the efforts of months of growing. ie: loss of THC%...

Im on my first grow but if my weed if good ill just keep cloning, unless i feel experimental then i'll fork out for some seeds and start from scratch again.

Speaking from experience....buy your seeds or get somne or clones from someone that bought seeds.

After 2.5 months of my time, electricity and nutes.....all 6 of my plants are hermies 3 weeks into flowering.

I'm on my way home now to assassinate them all. A friend shot me some White Widow seeds that I already germed and planted.

Don't waste time or $$$ on bagseed if you can help it. Ok to learn with if you don't wanna sepend the extra cash on seeds. But if you're planning on tokin what you grow.....buy quality seed.

I'm sure I've spent over $500 to get my grow going. Now I have nothing to show for it other than experience. BUY YOUR SEEDS.
