USE OF LSD IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PARANORMAL ABILITIES

* * Much historical and anthropological evidence and numerous anecdotal observations from clinical research suggest that psychedelic substances can occasionally facilitate extrasensory perception. In many cultures visionary plants were administered in the context of spiritual healing ceremonies as means to diagnose and cure diseases. Equally frequent was their use for other magical purposes, such as locating lost objects or persons, astral projection, perception of remote events, precognition, and clairvoyance. Most of the drugs used for these purposes have been mentioned earlier in connection with religious rituals. They include the resin or leaves of hemp (Cannabis indica or sativa) in Africa and Asia; fly-agaric mushrooms among various Siberian tribes and North American Indians; the plant Tabernanthe iboga among certain African ethnic groups; the snuffs cohoba (Anadenanthera peregrine) and epena (Virola theidora) of South America and the Caribbean; and the three basic psychedelics of the Pre-Columbian cultures—the peyote cactus (Lophophora williamsii), the sacred mushrooms teonanacatl (Psilocybe mexicana) and ololiuqui or morning glory seeds (Ipomoea violacea). Of special interest seems to be yagé, a brew prepared from the jungle creeper Banisteriopsis caapi and other "vines of the dead" used by South American Indians in the Amazon valley. Harmine, also called yagéine or banisterine, one of the active alkaloids isolated from the Banisteriopsis plant, has actually been referred to as telepathine. The psychedelic states induced by the extracts of these plants seem to be especially powerful enhancers of paranormal phenomena. The most famous example of the unusual properties of yagé can be found in the reports of McGovern (69) one of the anthropologists who described this plant. According to his description, a local medicine man saw in remarkable detail the death of the chief of a faraway tribe at the time when it was happening; the accuracy of his account was verified many weeks later. A similar experience was reported by Manuel Cordova-Rios (53) who accurately saw the death of his mother in his yagé session and was later able to verify all the details. All psychedelic cultures seem to share the belief that not only is extrasensory perception enhanced during the actual intoxication by sacred plants, but the systematic use of these substances facilitates development of paranormal abilities in everyday life.

figured ud just throw it here..

Most of the time it's probably just the shamans etc. fucking with the rest of the tribe. Say somebody in the tribe dies unexpected... they all get around and trip... then the shaman goes, "it was billy from the greenpeople tribe.. he used black magic." Then they all go and chop billy's head off.

But I believe anything's possible.

This is an interesting concept, one that I and my friends experimented with long ago. We became certain that we were gaining true, extrasensory ability with the use of LSD in isolation tanks. Our problem was that continued use of LSD seems to have people believe in things that are not quite real, we transcended the normal so often that we began to believe in magic. We had manipulated our perceptions of reality so often and so profoundly that we could never be sure what reality we were in and what the laws of that reality were. We did find that there were certain obscure correlations between different users, a comonality of experience that I am sure many of you have experienced. We also discovered that certain premonitions came true but never really put it to the test as we have no idea how many preminitions did not.

I have "seen" a fire in a friend's kitchen, and discovered that there really was one when I imagined it. I predicted a failure of an airliner, exclaiming "there is something wrong with the plane" and discovering that indeed, the flight was delayed for a crack in the windshield. I have known and spoken of other incidents, mostly surrounding the friends that I had taken LSD with - but... I at the time was led to believe in the extraordinary and made those predictions out loud many times, Who knows what actually happened? was I in touch with an already present ability (Some say that those with certain physical inabilityes have a penchant for perceptions), or was it just a drug addled illusion?

don't know.

I cautiously believe the same thing.... I have taken it over the Deep End though... I began to believe EVERY premonition, and it eventually became a very wild and paranoid Acid trip.

I can only think of a couple examples of the 'magic' / ESP/ premonitions and that is just little things with friends.... ex. we all saw the same hallucinations at times.........

I would like to refer you to The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Tests book by Tom Wolfe..... he writes (very well) about a trip that the pranksters had in which they all observed a family that transformed into Hedgehogs errr looked like hedgehogs anyways. No pranksters said a word to each other at the time but later they all explained the same trip..... But what Canndo is saying is what the Acid Tests were all about, really. They were trying to get that wave going and see if they could some how channel it........ LSD is like a magic wand that no one has the spell book for

How bout the story of the guys camping and one knew he would be ok falling backwards into a pit of burning coals..he got burnt the fuck up,lived to tell about it,and still says lsd is good,he just wasn't using it properly to achieve his feat of anti-incineration...guess the magic need to be used right.
I read this story on the net when I was 13..I hope I can find it again..the guy went into the tribal aspect of what he was thinking...

We had several mantras, one of which "if the body dies, the mind will follow", another was "the flesh is willing but the spirit is weak".
