in my experience, good buds are available just about anywhere, even small town. The issue is that the people selling it are typically smarter and more local operations, and as such you really gotta get into the right 'circles' to find the good stuff.
and yeah, most of the schwag comes from out of country, and is shipped in large quantities of bricks.
I feel your pain about the dirt weed. Never buy anything unless you can see it and no street/car deals. I bet you have that problem? Been there.
I've had some really decent imported brick a many times,sometimes it's crazy potent. I swear i had some bricked up Sour Diesel a while back. I've grown out some brick weed seeds once, had no problems with the plants and they turned out good. I was pleasantly surprised,i shoulda documented it but i felt like an idiot for growing the beans,i was wrong! The bud was so right for me,i miss it!
I've got a few seeds now from some decent import (along with some dank beans i bought from the tude) that I'm gonna run here soon. I bought an ounce that only had a seed here and there.Got seven of them and they look good to go.
Save the seeds from the good/decent imported brick,especially if they have some nice tiger stripes on the seeds & save the seeds from the bag that only gives up ten to twelves seeds,less chance they'll be from a hermie.I wouldn't be suprised at all if a lot of the Dank genetics come from weedseed that's been imported.I'm sure that's how the Indiana bubblegum came onto the scene.

I have got nothing but some really nice plants and buds from using brickweed seeds lol...so it is good weed.
It just became schwagg because of the way it was harvested and cared for (it wasnt cared for lol)....and on top of that it is likely old as hell, your prolly smoking stuff that was harvested 5 years ago bricked up and traveled thru the inside of many peoples tires and engine compartments and likely also dropped from air planes maybe even in the ocean before it finally made it to your hands several years later.
I suspect it is guerilla grown outdoor - they likely only go back to fertilize a few times and try to cull some males but other then that they mainly just go to plant and then come back to harvest.

ppl throw seeds in the grond and neglect to grow it, dry it, store it and package/ship it... it could be steller genetics but whoever didnt do it properly... think of how many dummies there r on this site let alone the world who throw a bunch of seeds in the ground

this quote is your new plan... with that schwagg bud it is often grown in quantities so big you couldnt fathom it seriously... they plant it with time release ferts so they dont even visit the site more than like once. the males stay and seed it. then they chop it on the spot and leave it to dry there on the ground in the sun but not close to all dry because they need it wet the put it in car compactors. they brick down wet and send it on the donkey ride basically. some of the genetics are fine ive grown mids my first time it was great - 60$ 8ths all day. why they dont do it better is because they dont care at there quantity level. why not make it better? the "schwagg" market exists and these are the guys who fill it. seems like they could make more with a quality improvment, but maybe not they have their market for what they got any of these guys have their own personal dank plant im sure

usually cause its big fields and they dont care for it properly. meaning probably a lot of males and hermys. its then usually put in vacuum sealed bags for storage. lot of times each brick is a pound. there is much more money involved when dealing with quantity over quality. keep in mind that these guerilla operations in mexico are dealing with hundreds of pounds at a time. its all about money. these ppl could give a fuck less what we smoke, they just want money to put food on the table for their family more or less. thank god for medical laws.

First, Let me start by saying I feel every $150.00 oz pain of yours. This is not an unusual occurrence. All over the USA in places where marijuana is still illegal, shady deals like this happen. I was an uninformed victim. That was until I educated myself and took matters into my own hands. When you are at the whims of the street vendor then you are exactly that. Paying 150.00 for an oz for that is just plain silly. But when it's your only option I understand why. To all the people that can get amazing shit at reasonable prices...good for you, we are all happy you are smoking bad ass stuff. But for the rest of us it's either grow your own or do without. He said it and i've lived it.
Schwag is the lowest grade of marijuana there is. With that being said, just because its the lowest grade doesn't mean there aren't still levels of quality that you should look for.
Firstly, color is a major factor. If its all brown and has no green at all then don't buy it. If it smells like something else other than pot don't buy it (fertilizer, gasoline, mold are just a few bad smells I've personally come across). I sampled some ground up schawg yesterday that tasted like dryer sheets.....i kid you not. I almost threw up. I didn't have the heart to tell my friend he got ripped off. Even if he bought 1/2 lb. of it for 200. Luckily for me I brought over some of my stuff that i grew. Finally, prevalence of seeds and amount of stem also including other additives (dead bugs, cigarette butts, cotton balls, etc...etc) is also a big factor. Before I started cultivating, I always wanted to have a sit down meeting with my connection. Usually we would smoke a joint and discuss business. This was a great way for me to inspect the schwag and make sure the weight was on the up and up. If you have ability or opportunity to do this then do so. Since connects are usually the middleman, they make their money by taking a cut and increasing the price from the amount at which they bought it. Sounds to me like you don't know your connection or he doesn't like you. I say this because anyone that knowingly sells what you showed us at $150 is trying to screw over their customers and they know it.
One thing i know for sure. If Marijuana becomes legal again federally, this kind of problem will be significantly less of a major problem, or altogether cease to be a problem.
You want top quality kind bud? Only way to know for sure you are getting good bud is to grow it yourself. That's why you're here, that's why we are all here. We are growers, and as growers we realize that there are options to what we smoke. We chose to have top quality buds.
What my point is , is that you don't have to be a victim to that pile of ash you showed us. Do some research, learn from the expert growers here, have some patience, and in no time at all you will be tokin on some quality bud. I wish you luck.
