Why are you here on RIU?

I only visit RIU & Audiogon for forums , Ive been here since the site was new ,I followed one of the grow mentors here from Overgrow when it got taken offline , i wanted to learn sog hydroponics from the best & this is where Albfuct landed so i followed him , my username was different the 1st 2 yrs here when the site crashed leaving myself , potpimp & a bunch of other members having to start over, at that point i became Panhead .

The site was new & since i had decades of soil experience i decided to help mentor soil noobs in my off work hrs like Al was schooling me in sea of green hydroponics ,when i retired at 58 five yrs ago i started spending alot more time here , now that im not a moderator anymore i post in toke n talk & politics mainly , i enjoy the humor of alot of members & now know several in real life .

RIU used to be small like grass city where you could get very detailed grow advice & experienced growers would mentor noobs ,the site has got so much bigger in membership vs grass city it's impossible to have the personal connection with every member , it's also hard to mentor noobs since the site exploded , i think the impersonal part of a large site like riu is what the people dont like when they compare it against grass city .

Honestly if i was a noob looking for help learning how to grow riu wouldn't be my 1st choice , we have more expert growers here than grasscity but thats bad for noobs , there's so much expert advice here & different approaches to growing its confusing for noobs , i can see where new growers would prefer the much smaller sites for the personal connection where an expert will mentor a beginner from start to finish , we did that here in the early yrs but the site is way too big for that anymore , if they dont like it here they leave , it is what it is , i'll be here till i take the big dirt nap :)

All good points, which is the only reason that I maintain in contact, almost daily with this site learning and communicating with liked minded people, that generally just like to grow, get high, and hopefully laugh once in a while.
So, why are you here?
I personally am here because of a search for good rolling papers, then I learned about the discount at Attitude, and I couldn't lie, so I have been a member ever since

Mods here are less cuntish/spasticated than the mods on other sites which gives this site more freedom of expression
on other sites the mods think they know everything even when many of them are noobs , Grasscity is a great example of this

I came here from Grass City.

They're a bunch of dicks over there. That and I ended up getting cited twice back to back. Once for talking about drugs (gasp), and then again for calling them out on that.

Too much censorship, especially coming from a site that revolves predominantly around illegal activity.

Actually quit smoking for a long time after that. Then started up again and ended up here.

Truth: I actually came here to catch up on what I missed from about 20+ years of not smoking/eating cannabis. I didn't know a vape pen from a clone… Now I am much more well rounded in my vernacular. But once I lurked for a few weeks, I fell in love with (most of) you guys. I can always come hear and smile.:bigjoint::peace:

Haha that's why I got banned from there too.. first time for talking about shrooms then the second time for pointing out that it's just words on the internet, I'm not selling them. Then I told people I bet I'd get banned for just typing the letters L S D.. I was right
