Why are my tops growing so tall?

If you want to limit the stretch, do some research on negative temperature differential. It actually helps control the height a lot if you can get the temps right. Drastic changes in temp cause them to stretch more. Warmer nights and cooler days is the key to keeping them from going crazy. I can't always have warmer nights than days, but I try to minimize the cooler nights during the stretch. If you feed with cold water it can make them stretch more too.

Well when I first started the plant she was on 24/0 light schedule then I switched her to 12/12 even though she’s an auto it was week 5 and people were saying to do switch it to that to jumpstart flowering but ever since I did that that when she rocketed up, would it be a better idea to switch back to 24/0? Or will that mess things up cause I read that autos aren’t effected by light change

Well shit, if it's an auto, I would leave it on 24/0 or 18/6. Autos don't need darkness. That would explain a lot I think.

Auto with light schedule cut wanting more light + topped right before transition + not enough light = this type of stretching situation.

Dunno if I've heard that one yet, will have to read up on it some.
I just leave a radiator heater in there at 82 and it only let's it drop a few degrees at night.

So should I put her back to 24/0? I need a definite answer before I try it. And I have a feeling she’s stretching because of the dark period and she’s constantly searching for light apparently cause she’s an auto

Okay she’s back on 24/0 now I’ll post an update in a few days and see what I got haha btw this is a budget and first grow so it’s mainly for just fun and to see what happens, I could really care less about the yield just as long as I can light something up that I grew I’ll be happy haha so I hope that clears up why she’s not in a tent with all this crazy lighting and whatnot, someday but just not today lol.

Just an update, she’s been praying ever since I turned the lights back on so I’m assuming she’s loving it cause when the lights were off everything was droopy

Looks rather spindly. Like others have already stated, you need better lighting.
She has really thick stems every grow of the same strain from same company online look exactly like mine, she’s a hybrid she had many leaves and had indica traits but I defoliated her and somewhere lollipopped her cause I removed lower growth that had no or little chance of shooting up, everything that looks off is the result of switching from 24/0 of light every day from the start of its life to 12/12

She's stretching out for light, because ya don't have enough. Pics prove that.

More light, more wind= better yield, better bud potency, MUCH thicker stalk and stems

I got the wind part down from basically the start so she’s really thick but what I’m trying to do is try to get the most out of what I have, So I’m trying to figure out if switching back to 24/0 will fulfill that wish.

Just don't pull any more leaves off, they are little solar panels that convert light into energy for growth.

Best of luck.
