Why am I considered mean? I'm just blunt.

Why do I have to be the bad guy for being my honest self?
If you feel like you are the bad guy for being your honest self, and it bothers you, why keep being blunt with people?
I don't know if this is something affecting your daily life, or your RIU posts. If it's real life, then keeping things to yourself (even if they are true) will save you a lot of headaches. If it's on RIU, LOL, don't pay attention to it, it's the internet. Most often than not your participation in posts and threads encourages pretty good discussion, so keep it up :)

I know I'm not the bad guy, but people make it seem
like I am. Thats what bothers me.

After being in a relationship, you learn more about yourself.
And I've learned that I have a bigger heart than most people
think I do. And I don't like being called "mean" because I know
I'm not.

Just needed to vent guys.

Thanks for listening. Hugs for all !!!!

Of course you love it. Or you wouldn't read my threads.

There's gotta be something about my threads that
keeps you coming back.

:hump::hump::hump:

And I'm over that. I've realized my grandma is always going to want everything her way, she's been like that her whole

life and she isn't going to change. And I'm not about to try.

I used to be just like you. You went from one extreme to another, now you need to learn to be in the middle. It's all about HOW you say something. Instead of saying it's ugly, suggest something else. Something slipping out isn't an excuse. You should consider peoples feelings before speaking.

Ok. I think I got it.

Be myself.
Be blunt, but respectful.
Be blunt, but not rude.
Be tactful.

:hump:
i got tigers in my cab baby, i know bout respectin!

but yeah, it's all about the right moment at the right time, what isn't.

stay true though, don't turn into some sass that priases every blushed cheek she sees, some people need schoolin, and as you said, it can do them a lot of good of done right. truth hurts, helps, but needs to be given in small doses

after posting, i know it's not a tiger, it's a leopard, but i like tigers alright, so that's how it is!

Maybe it's because you feel the need to be blunt but whenever I've read one of your threads you seem to not have a very thick skin at all. you get offended whenever someone criticizes you.

It's ok to be honest - if somebody asks you if you like their hair, you can say "no" if that is the truth. To then add that you also think it's ugly is called being an asshole and will get you no friends.

if u dont want to be considered a bitch then u shud maybe consider what ur gonna say and how might the other person take it? believe me i know. im a music producer and sometimes i get some "not so talented" artists... instead of telling them you guys suck, i tell them "hey maybe do this different, or hey u shud do this like this or that like that." or you can just be an asshole and say things however u want, its called common sense not to be a bitch, but if u cant really help it then that really sux honestly, a little kindness never hurt nobody, if ur grandma asks how dinner was your not gonna say "damn grandma i didnt like it, it tasted like shit." u get my point?:peace:

Why do people think I am mean because I speak my mind?

I don't think there is anything wrong with being a blunt person,
because obviously I am. :hump:

If you asked me if I liked your hair, and I didn't,
I would say "No, I don't like it. Its kinda ugly actually".

Why do I have to be the bad guy for being my honest self?
LOL! Is it because of that "Am I hot when I'm high" kid? I think I read that one. It's all good, if someone put themselves in that possition then they deserve to be told the truth.:peace:

Why would you even tell someone that's horrible to try something new. Honestly, seems like it would be wasting your time/money...so i don't really get ur point, no.

Personally, i'd be like....you're not cutting it, and...yeah, your costing me money so ur outtie.

That's called being "soft"

hahaha are u serious?? im guessing u have never been a music producer or have worked with "Artistic" people with huge egos right??? i get paid by the hour for recording music, so no they arent wasting my time or money, the longer they stay the more i get paid, its an independent label that i helped built a few years ago so many artists come by and record, all i have to worry about is that the recordings are crystal clear and that everything runs as smooth as possible while they record, then i send the unfinished product to somone that masters/mixes it. and like i said a little kindness never hurt nobody... if a musician isnt doing a good job i let them know that they have to do things differently, and if they dont take my advice then they have to hear what they recorded... i tell them "i very highly recomend that you change that cause it wont fit the harmony or the words seem 2 cluttered" etc.... i cant just say "you're not cutting it, and...yeah, your costing me money so ur outtie." if i did that i wudnt have any artists recording with us and our label wouldnt be making any money.... do u see my point??? being an asshole always has negative karma,,,, there are other ways to get ur point across without being completely blunt... so u call it being "SOFT" i just look at it as being "SMART"

do u get my point now??

Actually i do know what i'm talking about.

If i'm gonna do a job...i'm gonna do it right and not let someone elses shitty work make my "independent label" sounds/look like shit....yeah

If that's what your into, then whatever.

lmao,
as a producer ur not judged by how the artist voice sound like, or how he says his words,
as a producer u are judged by the sound quality of the track. (mixing, mastering, compressions,EQ's,panning,)
as a producer i cant magically make the singer sound like micheal jackson, all i can do is try to influence minor changes, i mean a singer isnt going to change their style right when they are about to record, that wud just be stupid... i mean i wish every artist that recorded in my studio would sound like MJ but we know thats impossible,,, so i have to work with what the artist offers and i have to remain professional. so no i wudnt tell an artist"you're not cutting it, and...yeah, your costing me money so ur outtie."

when artists firts come to my studio wanting to buy studio time i show them "projects" that i have done... i tell them to focus on the sound quality and mastering quality... not the lyrics or how the guy plays the guitar,,, but how clear it sounds...

Eh, still not the way i would do it...

And yes, I know music.

You don't have to explain what a producer does...i used to do it myself.

You have your own studio? What software you use?
