if you are talking about how to books and stuff i dont think so. to talk of growing is one thing that will get you kicked out of most shops. over a period of thing you can get better advice

Ok stop being so dramatic, your smoking a lil bit too much there. They will not "SELL" your info to leo, they don't have your real info anyway i hope. These guys that sell you the supply know exactly what you are buying it for. This means business to them and the faster you get caught the least money they'll get from you. The best thing to do is to go to a local cyber cafe, order your stuff there send in the money order and have it sent to your friends house. Local hydro shops tend to be watched by leo not 24/7 but the chances you go there with some other guy that was followed by leo there is slim, but there's still a chance. So you decide.

I used to be the guy behind the counter. I also owned the store.
I NEVER had any contact with LEO...though I do know that they came in a few times to check out what I was selling and to grumble. I wouldn't have known who they were..but a good friend of mine who has had some exposure to the local popo recognized one of them as a member of the "Drug Task Force".
The thought that hydro guys are giving out yer info is CRAZY. First off..who doesn't pay with cash? 99.9% of my customers did. I NEVER asked their name..adddress..etc. Never told em mine either! Selling customer lists/NARCING on your customers would put you OUT OF BUSINESS in WEEKS. Customers are cash...you DON'T hound em or ask em ANYTHING personal...for sure. If someone in a hydro store asks you personal info...turn and RUN.
As an owner...I operated under the assumption that anyone walking in could be a narc.. EVERY person that came in was suspect. If they spoke about weed..I tossed em out on the street. Not sure everyone knows this...but a hydro store owner CAN BE CHARGED WITH CONSPIRACY TO MANUFACTURE if they sell you equip they KNOW you are using for growing dope. That is why they DON'T TALK ABOUT IT..it ISn"T because they are popo...or are uncool..or merely pricks trying to get yer cash.
I was never aware/told that my store was watched. In fact, I know a local Sherriff..who i asked about such...and he told me they didn't have the RESOURCES or MANPOWER to watch my store...and also that with our state having "medical"...it was no longer a "sure thing" that whomever was going in was a commercial grower/was worth persuing as it was 15 years ago.
I closed my store because I just couldn't make any money. Between Ebay sellers undercutting and selling crap equip (most folks only care how cheap stuff is..not if it's warrantied or will last more than a few grows) and the RUMORS...liike the ones you pointed out about the stores bein watched and the owners selling customer info to the DEA...kept enough folks away that I never felt I REALLY tapped into the number of growers there REALLY are in my area.
On top of that..as a biz that doesn't collect ANY customer info..I couldn't market TO MY REAL CUSTOMERS...so getting the word out that I was even there and open for biz was extremely tough.
FWIW...while a lot of folks SPEW that hydro guys are narcs...etc....damn near everyone of em that I know/knew have a grow going SOMEWHERE...either on their own..or via a good friend.
