would growing in ph'd water only with the roots hidden be enough to sustain growth???
some people say it would, but i really dont think so. i mean, every plant needs some kinda nutrients. the reason they grow so well in the ground is because the nutes are naturally there

I'm new to hydroponic growing, I got a medium sized grow room, i'm gonna get a 6''cool tube powered by a 400 watt ballast, with a 6inch exhasut fan 435 cfm leading to the attic, and a cf/inline fan combo also leading to the attic, are the exhaust fans suppose to be running 24/7 or is there like a on and off cycle or timed cycle

thx for any input <noob

Thanks for your input, and by the way, I am definitely a GIRL!
i havnt got a cure but i had this problem when my plants was about a month old,,i asked a few people on here what it could be but no one realy had a straight answer,it could just be genetics but i realy couldnt be sure but my plants have pulled threw nicely without anymore deformed leafs so i wouldnt worry too much, from been a cuting to a month old my plants always seemed to have a weird shaped leaf but like i said it didnt do any harm as all my leafs are ok,good luck man..im just learning, its only my first go at growing so its all a learning curve

Im looking to buy a complete indoor tent and i am willing to spend up to £160. looking for the best place to buy from. only want to grow 1 or 2 plants. i found a tent for 130 but it didnt come with a fan.
can any one help me please??

I'm starting my indoor grow as soon as I get my seeds from nirvana, I'm gathering materials around the house before I go out and buy anything.
For soils I found the following "pefferlaw 3way mix" "Black Earth" ( I think its also by "pefferlaw") and lastly I found "Promix" it says for outdoor containers on it? Just curious as to which (if any) of theese 3 soils I should use.

If I didn't give enough information about the soils some one tell me !
I'll go look at the bags and I can give all the information on it, or I can simply just find a link showing the exact bags of soil I have.

That's only 2 sg. ft. for 5 plants. Sounds too crowded to me. For the fans I use 5" Black grate from lowes or home depot. I can't remember the exact name but they're by the PVC stuff. I use a jig-saw to cut the middle out. I drilled holes to mount the fan. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to gather as much information as I can before I start to build or actually grow anything so I don't come across a problem and say O shit what do I do now! +Rep too for the pics.

I have a 3x3' closet that I can grow 1-2 full size ladies in at max. I've addressed temp problems from my 400 watt mh/hps light, and have cropped twice using a rubbermaid hydo top feed system. The problem is my last harvest was a huge disappointment. Everything looked okay until I pulled the first big bud. I noticed it had spideweb like mold on it. Once I broke it in half my heart sank as I realized it was rotted thru and infested with white mold. I lost 60% of the harvest. Upon drying, the buds would release spores. What can I do to protect my next northern lights crop from the same fate? Space is super tight. I'm worried that a small dehumidifier may heat it up to much. I'm going to add another fan, but I'm already movin a lot of air.

was it white powdery mildew?ive just got a case of it but ive got it under controll now..theres a product called pmt for powdery mildew..it works wonders and also stops rott on buds an stuff..you should look in to it so you could have some aside incase it returns on your next grow

Im growing 4 autoflowers under a 400w hps in a small closet. question: is it best to water the seedlings like when I turn off the light at night or just anytime while the light is on or off? thanks

So my 30inch northern lights, 3 weeks into flowering, tips burnt on a few of the bottom large fanleafs, the saw edges. Coloring has gone from dark green to light green and you can tell the good green is getting sucked elsewhere in the plant, my food storage is disapearing. Things ive done before this happened.
Let the heat hit 90-94, first day with cooltube type fixture, didnt run the venting out. Now it is vented out into my main room from the closet, near the ac. I still cant close the tent but temps are down to 75-80 even on 90 degrees sunny days.

The next day, yesterday, I had to treat the pm or mold I had with greencure via foilar mist right before lights out. I did this in mid range of reccomendation.

Any ideas? I usually go feed, water, feed. It takes me a week to do this. Growing in a 2.5gallon pail. Im 3 weeks into 12/12. there are buds.

I go light on the nutes (fox farm trio) Have managed to NOT burn my blueberry lowlifes and that seems quite hard, the northern lights HAVE to be hardier. Maybe Im N defficient and the plant is taking it from where it is (leaves, and giving it to the buds?) or I have a ph lockout condition. It kinda has to be one or the other? I fed a light dose of 6 4 4 (I think its grow big) today to see if it makes a negative or positive effect. Il be testing the soil in a day or so. Appreciate the help

should exhaust and intake run all day? and should the oscillating fan run all day too?
I usually run mine an hour before lights on and about an hour after. It's all about temps. Heat is our enemy. I like lots of air flow. I figure too much is almost impossible.

thanks im having a huge problem with temp. its at 81 right now. i just added 2 120mm comp fans for intake. have a fan thats not oscilating but its at the top. before this it was at 81 with just the exhaust and alot of open holes for passive intake. hopefully this helps. should i run intake or the small fan for lights out to keep it cooler since it should drop 15 degrees.

INTRO
------
im looking in to growing 2-3 plants of Top 44 strain in a 2ft long; front to back x 8ft wide; side to side x 8ft tall closet.

LIGHTING
-----------
I am planning on buying a 250w MH light for vegatation & a 250w HPS light for flowering; and a 250w MH/HPS convertible digital ballast.. I also need a 250w reflector but i dont really know too much about reflectors and which one i should get except that hortilux makes good ones.. I also read that i need a connecting wire, socket, and a timer as well.

*Any info on where i can purchase this / online stores that you guys either have
purchased from before or know about. (I would prefer to buy everything at once
from one store.)
*Which brand of light should i get / is the most consistent/durable/efficient?
*Also advice on what is the best type of reflector for a small garden like mine and
where to buy one. (2ft long; front to back x 8ft wide; side to side)
*And advice on what type of connecting wire, socket, and timer / where to buy
appreciated as well.

SOIL & NUTRIENTS
-------------------
I am planning to buy FoxFarm Happy Frog Potting Soil for the soil and FoxFarm Grow Big 1qt & Big Bloom 1qt as the nutrients.. I have no idea what type or size containers i should use.

*I kinda have this figured out and where to buy it but if you know of a better
one / have used a better type of soil / nutrients; please let me know!
*All info on what type/size containers i should get for seedling stage then
vegative/flowering stage would be greatly appreciated as well.

WATER
--------
Should i use tap, purified tap; or some other type of water?

*Advice needed in this area! I have no clue about this.

ALL input to help me out with my first grow would be really appreciated
