I'll check back. Feel free to post on my sig links. If it was me (& I have) I'd harvest some then keep everything the same.(Lights, schedule etc.) Feed as you need. I try to keep them green to the end. I only water once or twice at the end nothing out of the ordinary. Flushing is myth & hype. As Uncle Ben has said, we're not growing toilets.

How do you do a SCRoG and what are the benefits to do this method. I know you use a screen about 2' above the plants. I dont understand how the screen helps anything?

the weaving through the screen creates more bud sites and a larger more even bud canopy. the buds all stay the same size, this makes the light more efficient because it stays closer to the plant.. anything under the screen gets removed.

Hey guys, I'm new to hydro here. How often should I be watering?

They are in a airoponic system, but the roots haven't reached the water yet, they are only 8 days from seed.. I've been watering once every 2 days. Is this enough?
They are in peat pucks, in a rockwool cube, surrounded by expanded clay pellets in net pots.. Thanks :)

Stop misting.

It sounds like nutrient burn to me. Run just water for a while. You could stand to drop your pH just a bit too.
Snow Crash. I think you were right on the money! I followed your advice to a tee. Today it looked like they snapped out of their funk. I came home and had to do a double take. They grew a solid couple inches of healthy growth. The misting was the advice of the local hydro shop. Bad advice. Thanks for making the world a greener place and giving me a big grin.

Keep them moist. Not soaking, not dry, just moist. There is not one specific method.

Your temperatures might be high and your humidity low. Might be the other way around. Basically, no one is going to be able to tell you with exact certainty how often you must water.

Just keep it moist. Small plants need VERY little water, most of what you add is lost to evaporation, just don't over do it or dry it out and your plant will be fine.

I am on my first grow. My plants are in 2d week of flowering. They got really droopy when I went out of town for 3 days and returned to desert dry conditions in the cabinet.

I watered them. Still droopy. I then removed all fan leaves. Yep. All of them. Left only what I thought were budding sites.

Did I do something terrible? The plants have rebounded a little bit. OR maybe I am crazy and the fan leaves removal made them look healthier.

Is this an acceptable cropping/trimming technique?

Not acceptable. No.

Your plant needs those fan leaves during flowering. Had you defoliated throughout the grow, or done so while the plant was healthy, this could be acceptable. At this point though... Probably not a good idea.

Time will tell, hopefully your genetics will find some way to compensate for this disaster.

High there.

I have been growing for a year in soil and will take step to hydro now.
Have decided on NFT in a bed style about 100 by 200 cm and to 400 hps over it.

My question is if I could use a thin cover of clay pellets in the bottom of the bed instead of the spreader mats. 1 to 2 pellets deep.

My thinking is that the pellets will stay wet on top and the roots grow around them giving them more surface area to soak up nutrients while the water flow i just under the top of the pellets. Maybe i could have a higher flow rate aswell??

Could the roots grow to deep and water log?

Also I am thinking maybe 40 plants placed about 15-20 cm apart vegged in raft dwc setup to about 15-20 hight and topped, then flower in this nft bed.

How high up should the root ball be from the bottom of the nft setup.

Thanks for all help.

Hi. first grow 400w hps from the start (3 feet) - temp 72-77 day, night 59-61 (lights 18/6), white dwarf auto (humidity lights on 30-30%, night 50%). soil b.a.c lava mix (sold in uk), no nutes, water 6,5-6,8 ph (tap left in open for 24hrs). The plant is 9 days old - first week was bit traumatic - them temp were up to 92-95 - watered 50ml per cup (fiber made cups holes in the bottom for drainage). All pictures of the same plant - can i save her ?? another one 3.jpganother one.jpganother one 2.jpg leaves curling up, look dry??, brown/reddish spots??
