I know I'm not the only toker that likes wine. I just cracked open a bottle of Small Gully Robert's Formula Shiraz 2005. Yes... I know it's noon but I plan on having some of it with dinner, so I'll keep her open on the counter until then. I just couldn't help but sneak a glass since I've been waiting for fedex to drop her off in the last few days.

I also got a bottle of Frescobaldi Tenuta Di Castiglioni 2007 that I'll be opening around 2013ish.

What do you guys have in your rack/cellar right now?

Sounds awesome man! I like wine, but I can rarely afford more then a $10 bottle. I have some Chianti on hand at all times, as well as some type of bubbly. I prefer Spanish wines such as Tempranillo and also Mediterranean wines both red and white. I drink a lot of domestic wines but often have to pair them with foods to get a pleasant experience. I find with Spanish wines I can drink them with or without foods and still finish a whole bottle.

Let me know what else you got in the cellar. Should start a wine/bud pairing thread, I've tried but never found that wine quenches the cough enough.

That can be all different types, based on the vineyard, the grapes, how it was made etc. I'm a big fan of Cabernet Sauvignon. If you prefer the white wines, check out a Riesling. German Riesling wine's are usually sweet. And they pair with a lot of different foods (beef, poultry, fish, etc)

A wine and bud pairing thread would be epic. I would definitely contribute when I start my grows!

I don't really have much else on the rack, besides a few tables wines and some cheap merlot. I do have a bottle of C. Donatiello Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2005 on the way. I can't wait. 93 point wine.

As far as affording wine, you don't have to buy expensive to drink well. The two bottles I got today were $13 and $19. Cheap on the wallet, not on the pallet. They are both 90+ point wines.

I'd love to own a vineyard. Sit in Sonoma Valley and smoke all day tending to grapes haha.

@logzz I'll definitely keep an eye out for eleven fingers.

Has anyone tried anything from Coppola Vineyard? We had a bottle of red (don't remember what grape it was) for valentines day with some thick steaks. My god it was good, about $18usd from the grocery store.

I've been thinking about making my own. Not sure where to start, I'm sure they have little kits somewhere.

I like wine--I am making my first batch right now should be done next week. Got the recipe off the net in a forum like this one. I looked for a guy with 4500 posts and used his recipe which is a can of frozen concentrate and some water sugar and champagne yeast. I also started a batch of Barney Flats oatmeal stout Choclate with a bit of Molasses for flavoring at the end . I love wine and beer I hate the fees on it---so I make it.
