Lmfao bro u can grow in anything long as the medium can stay wet. The system Eastcoast is talking about I use too and just harvested a Blue Dream beast in all perlite. The link is in my signature. But I've seen people use mattress foam different cotton materials. Perlite is very good medium to use clean inert and gnats and other pests can't breed in it. But like someone said it dries out pretty quick so it's best to use a hydro system of some sort but like gr865 said he hand watered his but I couldn't do that with the size plant I had.
oh i wasn't hating bro... i just have never seen that before and found it interesting... thats pretty cool tho

Just seemed like you was saying like that's stupid but yea it is pretty cool. You'd be surprised what you can grow in especially cannabis. I was trying to jump down on you either was just trying to give some good info but lots of people be hating and don't even know what they be talking about. My bad if I came off that way tho. Peace

How's the cookies and your cross doing bro???
Cookies are going very nicely bro, the LED's just keep them looking perfect. I think i have 3 (maybe 4) of the cookies crosses so we'll see how they turn out. There is some very different smells coming from all of them ;)
The cross is going well too bro, after the cookies are done i'll do the last part and grow out as many as possible to pick a female to cross with the OG ;)

nah its actually 2-1 perlite /vermiculite.Mine are hempy and have about a 2 litre nutrient reservoir at the base .ph perfect, clean passive hydro and the roots love it :)

dude thats sick, i love growing hydro but this seems like a nice hybrid system between soil/hydro. i am growing in fox farm ocean mix atm just until i get a female and then i'll be using my dwc buckets. after seeing those big healthy roots tho i deff wanna look into this method next time i need to grow a mother plant

yeah hempy is 100% hydro, all hydro means is (grown in) water. perlite and vermiculite is inert as in has no nutritional value, the plant is feeding on the nutrients that you give it only. I have done dwc too, but I live in a warm climate and dwc is prone to rot at high temps :)
