White Widow 5 days darkness test

Hey guys I got 3 white widow plants that have been flowering for almost 8 weeks now since 12/12, so an other 3-4 weeks left I figure until harvest, already looking great!

I'll start posting pics soon.

I've been growing these with a 400w hps in a 2x5 closet in soil pots. Have also 3 CFL lights at the bottom.

Every batch of these I grew, I've been putting them in 48hr darkness before harvesting and I did find them heavier. This time I plan on doing 5 full days of darkness see how that goes? So many posts and comments out there saying 2 weeks of darkness is best for white widow and some people say it doesn't work some say it does but I don't really think many have tried it. I'll see how 5 days goes and I'll be posting enough before/after pics, if I see a good difference after 5 days I'll go for 7 but doubt I want to do that long.

Give me your comments I'd like to see if you can change my mind on this :) Anything is welcome!

I've posted some pics of my plants a few weeks ago in an other one of my posts, so you can check those out for now! (not sure how to find the thread myself atm)

Usually it is 8-10 weeks from my experiences with it for flowering time.
I count the weeks from signs of flower, and it took almost 2 weeks after flipping the lights, so their technically at 6 weeks at the moment. still 2-4 weeks. All the trichs are still all clear

Yea I am always curious if this darkness step does any good or not. Please post lots of before and after shots. Are you going to do all 3 plants or will you keep 1 normal so we can compare?
I will watch the progress of this.

Ive seen awesome results with this technique in my own garden, but then again, I have always done this, so cant really say in comparison.

Ive got a Jack Herer plant 6 weeks into flower, and it is particularly white with crystals, getting excited for the next couple weeks for sure.

How long would you go in the dark? just curious

I'm about as far along as you are in flower with my white widow. I've never grown it before so I'm curious to see how yours turns out :) I was planning on doing 1 full day of darkness right at then end but you pose an excellent question. Can't wait to see pictures!!! Good job guy!!

Right on, I can't wait to see yours as well haha, love this strain! I finally got some pics before batteries of the camera died, i'll keep posting some as I can! This is at day 58 of 12/12. Switched lights on January 25. There all still clear trichs. A good 2-3 weeks left, start flushing in a week I think. There's still enough new growth on the buds, just fattening up now heh.

Wow!! I might be couple weeks behind you. I started flower on 2/12/12 so I think that would explain why your buds are so much bigger than mine!! They are beautiful, wonderful job!! As soon as I figure out how to post pics from my iPhone I will show you my ladies!!

Did you hit a weird bud growth plateau at about 5 weeks from flipping?? I just loaded them up with Carboload cuz it was like they stopped growing. Weird huh? Just curious if you saw the same thing around that time. As soon as I switched chemys I saw improvement :)

I'd say they're ready to go in darkness in about 14 days. Posting more pics tomorrow, how's your white widows doing? Anyone else growing it at the moment? comments?
