White vs. White+red+IR+whatever. Have you ever seen a proper side by side online?

Has anybody actually seen a convincing side-by-side comparing white light to white+colors? In all my years lurking forums I have never seen one, but I haven't gone out of my way looking for it. It For all the hype surrounding color diodes there appears to be a lack of real evidence. It seems like a marketing ploy to me.

Ive seen or_gros white+660+730+uv versus highlight uv boards: 2700k 90cri. The end spectrums was quite similar.

It was very equal in yield but faster finish and nicer bag appeal has me in the high light camp.
I like what ive seen with straight white low K 90cri grows more than what ive seen from 80cri + red sup.

I've done it quite a few times & prefer an enhanced white for several reasons.
Plenty of evidence out there. Just not enough people doing it from lack of technological advances to incorporate all in one fixture. Many companies are afraid to lose a Umol/j in order to provide Horticultural spectra.
There is one thats been doing it for 6 yrs. & the rest of the Johnny come lates are still playing it safe with 660nm & white chips which is the electrical High Efficiency spectra.
My thread shows a few examples just last run of enhanced vs 90 cri white.

Some of my work (photography) is also used to sell things online and because of that I just get skeptical as soon as a seller gets involved. If you ever got a light for free I don't even wanna hear it.

And I can't take your "evidence" seriously hybridway after how you act with HGL and amare. You are extremely involved with companies who sell lights. I question that there is "plenty of evidence out there".

Plant light response studies have long established that enhancing certain nm of light do energize those specific cycles

I don't know why anyone would waste their time doing a side by side

Fair enough. Al though i dont agree with or-gro being intimately connected to light sellers its true that you could see him as an "influencer". I dont think he got a single light for free. But i realize that its quite hard to just swallow if you havent seen the grow yourself and it was not on a public forum.
Maybe to make it clear im not arguing for white plus reds, im arguing for white high cri, light peaking around 620-625nm in stead of 600. Theres a few threads kicking about on 80 vrs 90 cri. I know Rahz and and a couple more made sbs.

Also, id prefer a white high cri low K + wide blue/uv on a separate channel rather than adding reds.

I may like the Company i recommend but its for a reason. Certainly not the free Prototype i got a few yrs ago that doesnt even include the spectra i preffer. I appreciate any quality fixture any company offers me & do my best to provide a nice grow & the most honest data i can about it.

There's not many folks who have done these tests back to back to back for the past 5 yrs like i have so most info or responses you will probably get would primarily be based on guessing, opinions, or lack of scientific data excuses from what I've seen having this discussion in the past. There's a ton a data from burple companies & Data from White companies. Maybe ignore the parts where they attempt to discredit the other & try to see the truth & positives to both. Read an absorption chart from 10 yrs ago. They both have legitimacy. If you go at this with an open mind you will see it is all common sense.
Once you do it (especially if you compare), then & only then will you truly understand.
Pics & weight is obviously not good enough proof for you so you'll have to pony up n do it big dawg!
Cost of building, electrical efficiency & longevity is a few reasons many led companies choose not to use enhanced beyond the convenient (now most efficient) 660 chip.

What LED company has sent Hybridway2 the most free lights to test? come on now bro you can do this - HLG

Have a look at Jarvilds posts. He posted examples of side by side. Impression I got he was he noticed some differences. Will try to find links for you.

Basically, accusatory crap is the reason why I stopped posting threads here. I called HLGs representative out for the same reasons. If I was one of their investors I would not let him post, unless he had facts to back up his accusations (Mars= SF). My guess is Mehzi (sp) is a gigantic led manufacturer who makes all kinds of products TO THEIR CUSTOMERS SPECS

Hybrid, come clean. Did HLG give you free lights?

I believe he has stated so on many occasions and never suggested otherwise. Nothing wrong with it either and in fact I see it as a great marketing tool for those companies who can afford to do so.
Put some product out in the market and let the growers do with it what they want. The truth will come out if the product stands on its own. Growers will be recommending it to everyone if if is something they feel they would actually put their own money into moving forward
Also the number of people who have received free gear from HLG is mind boggling. Clearly they are having some success to be doing so many giveaways

Mezhia, Mars, SpiderFarmer, and the dozens of other inexpensive pop up board distributors are grouped as one to many people. If it's not Premium, Top-Tier, its a Mars or any of those companies despite the so-called components.
I think that's what he meant by that, but just my interpretation.
Anyways, to answer your question, i Have never recieved a FREE anything in my life. I Wish. I pay with another form of currency & it costs me more then shelling the initial cash.
Once you receive a product from whomever, if you are any kind of decent person you will put it to public use, point out the Pros n Cons, give your opinion on it, feeling the pressure to provide a good grow & represent the product properly. Its allot of work. Plenty of nights id rather go to bed but now have obligations, at least in my own head because neither Stephen or Victor have ever demanded or even suggested i handle the goods in any specific way. Never made me agree to do anything, review or even publicly grow. I just do it n nobody says Boo to me about anything.
Not like Scammie who wanted to lay laws down to use some absolute Crap.
Whether i pay monies or do the work, its all payment bro. Your Work is worth something.
At NO point am i ever obligated to talk up a product. Have never been asked to & never will unless i feel that happy about it. My discretion.
I've got one side of the room Amare & the other side HLG at this time.
