Looks to me like you have spider mites. This is how you first notice them they are a mite small. They eat the leaves first and leave white spots.

that's what i initially thought but i am familiar with mites and i can't see anyting under the leaves, but ill keep looking. is there any other reasons?

that might be it, the white parts aren't so much circular dots as they are streaks. and as stupid as this may sound, how do i go about making an entirely new post under new title and catagory, im having a hard time navigating this site, newbie!

Do not do this. Start one, call it a journal and ask your questions there. There is no advantage to you to start a new thread for every question you have. Every time you post in 'your thread' it brings it up as a new post. Now think about this are you more inclined to look at a thread with 2 posts or twenty. If you click on the subject you want to post in LIKE GROW JOURNALS it will take you to a page that say new thread or start thread on the upper left hand side, you already did it once to posts this one, its just a different subject. alright i appreciate the tutorial. so i have more questions. also have a small hydro set up going. unfortunately i am using fluos but i have a 400w switchable ballast and i havnt yet got a mh bulb and i only have a hps bulb now and plan to flower with that. my question is; at what rate should i increase my ppm ( i am using sensi grow 2 part solutions) and also, how often should i replenish my resevoir of new nutrients?

Generally, I start intorducing nutes at 1/4 the recommended dose to two week old seedling, no adverse effect kick it up a 1/4 every 3 or four days until full strength is reached, for my flood and drain thats 1400 ppm. Minimum every two weeks, that seems to work well for me. I am not familiar with the recommended doses for the Sensi Grow Nute line, most recommend about this level of nutes.
If you want to you can use the hps for vegging, I used to use them after a few weeks under floro's, the do just fine as log as you have a good air handling system. I would not buy another one. :blsmoke:VV
