White Russian SCROG CFL + HPS

Hi guys,

so this is my first time growing a photoperiod strain, this meaning that I have some experience with autos.

So the plan is to veg the plants for 2 months under CFL while filling up a scrog (hoping to keep the plant height very low) and then I will flower under a 400W HPS. The grow room is small (60x60x90 cm) but I will upgrade the height of it during flowering will probably go (60x60x150 cm)

There are 3 CFL bulbs per plant (2 x 6400k 35w with 1 x 2700k 23 w) in total I will have 6 bulbs equaling 186 true watts.

I have filled the 6 liter buckets with Biobizz all mix and have watered (6.5 ph) the empty earth thourouly one day before the seeds were planted. Both have sprouted on staturday and are now 4 days old. I have NOT watered the buckets since last thursday since the ground is still moist.

Specs:

Pot: 6 Liter pots
Soil: Biobizz All-Mix
Strain: White Russian
Fertilizer: Coming soon

Picture taken today

Any advice is welcome :)

I did the second watering today with 6.7 PH water. Due to the size of the container, high air humidity and the low heat emanation of the CFL bulb I have not felt it was needed to water the plant almost the entire week. My girls seem happy.

I will proceed during this weekend to mount the second row of cfl's.

Completed mounting seconday light system, currently running 186w CFL for veg. Hoping I can start scrogging in about 2.5 weeks depending on plant hight and overall health.IMAG0254.jpgIMAG0255.jpg

Did a third watering with 6.4 PH today, I have noticed increased vegetation growth since mounting the secondary light system with very close internodes branching, I am really pleased with the results so far. I will be fimming both ladies probably on Saturday since the Russian is sativa dominant and I do not want them to grow as tall as my house.

Question: If anyone is reading this, I have measured the PH of the water that drained from the bucket and it had an average of 5.8 I am not sure how this works for the drained water and why it has a different PH level, does anyone have an answer for this?

Now presenting my ladies

Watered today with a 6.8 PH solution not much to say girls are happy, have noticed that due to high proximity of the CFL bulbs that they tend to grow horizontally a lot more than vertically with very tight internodes.. I had to raise the lights on Thursday when I woke up in the morning; one of the girls was literally hugging a light bulb.

The girls are fine, since day 15 they have started to promote a lot of undergrowth, slowed down a bit on going up; also the leaves have started to develop that weedy smell. Watered today with a 6.5PH solution, wondering if I should introduce nutrients before day 30 they seem to be doing all right for now without them.

I think the seedling stage is over since a lot of growth has started to appear, the girls 19 cm high (7.5 inches) and they seem to be doing very well.

I am not sure when to introduce nutrients to them since they don’t seem to need anything at the moment they have very thick stems and the leafs are green and healthy. In this matter I would really like some advice.

I have mounted the scrog net today, I am not very pleased about it, the net itself kinda bends and I am not sure if it will hold the plant underneath…time will tell if I will need to improve on this.
