White Rhino under CFLs

Ok this was my original design for my setup, but what I wanted to point out in this pic was the white draft strips.. I only use single strips on the middle of the doors due to the doors offset, You may have to play around to find out what works best for your unit :)

After you have applied the strips to the inside edges (face edges) its time to do the doors too, this helps seal your room with a nice tight vaccume :) - STELTHY

Its a good idea to apply the strips in a 66 , 99 sort of way so when the doors close, the strips make a nice tight seal, and kind of lock together, you can also apply magnets to the top and bottom of the doors to hold them shut and keep things air/light proof - Stelthy :)

Now this may look shite lol, but if you imagine this is a pvc 'Blackout' curtain and its pulled down, when you close the doors this will A) stop light getting to your ladies during their 100% dark nights, and B) stop light leaking out into your room - STELTHY

If you make/use some belts or use small bungee cords you'll be able to roll up your 'Blackout PVC Curtain' so you can work on your ladies/ unit without unrolling and pissing ya right off lol :) - STELTHY

This is Rocksteady6's grow I am just helping him out with diagrams n info, so hopefully he can succesfully turn over some awesome ladies, I think he said he is doing 2 plants but you'll have to double check with him :) I am giving him pointers from my stealth setup and inputting the extra info where his setup differs from mine :) - STELTHY:leaf:

Welcome Del. Yes its a 125w 6500k cfl. I have another one in the 2700k range that i will use simutaneously when the plants need it. I am only going to grow these 2 babies small. I actually think one might die in the process knowing my technique. I am thinking two-three weeks veg and then into flower. As friends stay in that spare bedroom i cant have an inline fan thats why i have opted for the 2 computer fans. I will look into a home made carbon filter when the time comes. Thanks for your suggestions Del. Good to hear that the rhino is hardy. I also have a few 28w CFLs in various spectrums for side lighting when needed.
:weed:
lol still going to be hard to keep secret if people are going to sleep in room, cant you put it in yours..... have you considered using a 1 or 2 70watt hps to flower?

Stelthy i cant thank you enough. You are quite the artist. I am not nearly as handy as you but i do love my hole saw and jigsaw so i think the making holes part i should be fine. Such a good idea putting some backing on the fans so they dont vibrate against the wood. I have just got home from work and its fucking 8:00pm so nothing happening tonight except beer drinking.
I will attempt to put the fans in tomorrow night. I will take it slowly so not to make mistakes. I wont be selling any of my weed as i like to smoke and selling doesnt interest me. Therefore no turning my grow into a inline fan but i think the computer fans should be fine. Now winter is approaching the temps should be much more managable. Hey stelth the insulating strips for putting around the doors is that a foam type material? I saw some in bunnings, big hardware store in aus, which si for putting around windows. Not sure if thats the right thing or do you use rubber?

Del most of my mates just dont want to be kept up by the wizzing of an inline fan. Like i said i will attempt to make a carbon filter in a few weeks if time permits to deal with that lovely smell.

Thanks for the comments so far.

You can buy this from Homebase in the UK or Homedepo in the US I don't know if you have these stores in OZ, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding it in a hardware store :) - This is the exact one I used for mine :)
(P Profile Rubber Weather Strip Draught Excluder -10m - White 098867) its cost is 7uk pounds - STELTHY

Ok if your not ready to get an in-line fan yet, thats ok, The set up will still work fine! but please get a propper filter, the DIY ones aren't that great the carbon needs to be adjetated and breathable (a certain grain size) and a small filter is not that much money :) also if you make your own the CPU fans wont give enough push to blow threw a DIY filter (cos of grain grade) and heat will build up in your growroom! not cool! - STELTHY

New to Hydroponics / Indoor Plant Growing? What does this product do? This product removes smell, to be used with a fan to draw the smelly air into the filter to be cleaned.
Use the easy drop down menu to choose the right carbon filter for your extractor fan.

Carbon filters remove all particles in grow rooms that create odours. Fits straight on to the required fan without the extra purchase of a reducer.

How do I use the Carbon Air Filter?
Filters can be placed inside or outside a growing environment and used for cleaning the intake or the exhaust air. Place a fan that matches the size rating of the filter, into the flange on the filter top and place the filter on the floor, bottom end down, or hang the assembly horizontally in the growing area. All our filters plug directly into our fans.
[/FONT]When do I use the Carbon Filter?
Use a Can Carbon Filter any time you need to clean 99.9% of all odors and unwanted airborne organisms from the air.

What will the Carbon Filter do for my plants?
Carbon filters purify air and prevent odours and disease organisms from entering or leaving growing environments.

Where will I see the results?
It is what you will not see (airborne disease) or smell (unwanted odour) as a result.

Why should I use the Carbon Filter?
Carbon Air Filters use only the highest quality pre-Cambrian mined carbon ore with the smallest grain size (more surface area to clean air).

Any of the 1st 4 in the top pic will suffice fine.....smaller the better with small fans! mine is the 4th one on the left, but for your setup with the CPU fan as your outtake I would surgest the 1st or 2nd one on the left.. Believe me the results are seamless! - STELTHY

Thanks for posting that. You are right that i shouldnt skimp on the filter. I have had a look and this one seems to be the cheapest available in aus.

This may sound like a retarded question but when looking at carbn filters there seemed to be nice looking ones designed for cars. Knowing nothing about cars could this be compatible or are they specially designed for grows?

Car filters are different, and they are designed to work under intense pressure from exhaust, the K&N styled induction filters rarely contain carbon and are designed fo air intake! some could be usable but its better to go for a CAN filter or one thats designed purely to use for growing! that way you cant go wrong :) - STELTHY

Hey Dangledo. Welcome but it sounds like you arent sticking around i hope you are though. I got my fans today. Plugged em in and they move a fair bit of air. Much more that i thought. These are meant for computers though i presume. Very robust things made of metal. They plug straight into a power socket so no stuffing around with chargers and that as i am useless with anything handy. On that note though i have these two controllers that came with my large ceiling fans but as i have controllers for those they are available if they can be used. Anyone have any advice? I would say if i can use them it would involve chopping the power cord but i will need some help from an electrician i would say. Stelth i will get one of the small $109 phat fans. Give me a couple of weeks. I have a fishing tournament coming up and all my money is going on tackle.
