Ok so i hope this all works.

What: White Rhino
Germinated: 16th May 2010
Medium: Coco
Light: 2x 4 foot 36watt Sylvania grow tubes
Current Light cycle: 18/6
Distance from light: 10-20mm

WEEK1:
I gave them a 3/4 strength feed of my local dudes version of Veg cycle food with a root tonic. Not to sure how it compares to normal cana products but it was cheaper (by the time i ship it out and shit). Im 99% sure he was on to what i was growing so i trust his judgement :P

(lights closer than this but had to get under there)
(lights off at the time as meant to be in the dark cycle...looks like i fucked that up tonight)

ok so fixed the whole journal to thread issue now :D

Found a little reptile therm lying around so will hook it up to the room later. Just need to get myself a good EC and PH meter now. My local dude charging $100 for them minimum so looks like i need to shop around.

Checked on them all today and it appears i have some seedlings that are showing accelerated growth in comparison to the others so i think i know which ones i will be selecting to keep :)

Ok good to see that blog thing has been moved to a normal thread. I am simple and couldnt be bothered to figure the blog thing out. I know what i will say might contradict what others have said but i wouldnt bother with the ec or even a ph meter at the moment. You are growing in coco which i think is quite good for buffering the ph. If you feed your plants a single veg and single bloom feed and follow the instructions on the bottle you should be fine and not burn them. Just start low and build up until full strength. Even then if you want to try for more you can just watch the plants for slight burn and back off. I wasted money on a ph meter(for the feed) and i never use it. The cheaper ph and ec meters are all fairly inaccurate and need to be contantly calibrated. You are much better off spending your money on trying to get more lighting. At the moment you only have 72w of tube power and because they are tubes the light is spread. You have seen my cab and its certainly far from impressive but i have about 300w of cfls in there and i still am not seeing the results of a HID. My setup suits me purely as it was cheap to set up and also it doesnt need a huge amount of venting. I really think you need get rid of some of those seedlings. There is just so many of them. Anyway will be watching.

My opinion too is that if you continue to feed those babies 3/4 strength nutes then they will be toast. Just remember that nutes can build up and when the medium gets dry the concentration in the medium goes up.

hmmm yer i suppose Lights are more important than measuring equipment. I never even thought about how low my wattage is!!! Wow looks like i need to ramp it up a little!!!

Yer all i feed my plants are single veg with a little root tonic and even then im using low strength.

Im REALLY trying to get me a HPS however money is extremtly tight at because uni takes up majority of time so no time to work and make the dough. ETA on a HPS is still about 4 weeks so i hope i get it in time for flower. If not i have a spare dual holder for flueros so i can wack 2x100watt or so in there which would give roughly 272watts of light...nothign impressive but as you said is good because its so cheap :)

As for the seedlings there is no question about if im keeping them all or not....i know i have WAY to many for the setup i got, but i was given them all so wanted to see which ones are worth keeping before i just cull them. With the ones i cull i think ill just chuck them in the compost outside and hope they take :P

Hey man check at lowes, I picked up two utilitech 150w hps security lights for 34 bucks on clearance! They might have them in your area maybe not... Good luck on your grow!

Im in Aus mate so we dont have lowes :P

Also when i go for MH and HPS ill be goign for a 400watt min!...but looking into the 600watt range :)

i buy mine in a shop ,im not into online hydro buying
the 600 is the go
ive got 2 1000mh just hanging in the room but the temps are still a little warm to go mental
but when there not im lighting those fuckers up

I HAVE HANGING ATM
2 600 hps
1 400 hps
2 1000 mh
in the flower room
the 6s are in tubes and atm im only running 1 400 and 2 600 with 2 hours 1000 a day (to see if it makes any difference )(i dont think so)(i like to fuck around)
when ya light the lot up fuck its bright

ive got too much i gotta learn how to use whats needed
im going a scrog next grow and i think that i wont need all that light
but it just hanging so if i need it its there
