shut up daughter!
This round it will be 3 because you cut the clones a week early did you forget?
actually they will be vegging for a full month this time to be exact.

Wow, things are looking pretty nice! I saw a comment that you left on one of my posts and saw your link, so I figured I'd check it out! I have one question....in your first few posts you said you took clones from your buddies plants. What method did you use? Did you do the same thing with the top you took? I'm asking because I'm at about 9 days out from taking my clones and leaves are turning yellow, a few have died...but I don't see any roots coming out of the rapid rooter plugs? Also, I topped my plants and tried to clone them but every single top clone died on me. Any idea why? You guys seem like you know your shit, I mean the plants speak for themselves!

Thanks junkie and welcome to the journal.
when I take cuttings I always cut at an angle then I make small cuts in the stems so my rooting gel can get in there. after I dip them into the gel I put them in either moist rapid rooters or moist rock wool cubes, I then put them into a humidity dome and make sure to keep everything really moist and make sure to air out the dome a few times a day, and they always root by the second week every time. I use this same method for my tops yes.

Can you show me some pics?

I'll try and help you but I need you to answer a few questions.

What type of light are you using for your dome?

How often do you mist them?

What kind of rooting hormone are you using?

I'm not a big fan of posting pics on RIU, but I can tell you I basically do what you do. I have a humidity dome with rapid rooter plugs, rapid rooter tray and a tray under that holding a little bit of water with a tad of Hormex in it. I also have a heat pad under the tray to keep keep temps where they need to be. I mist them about twice a day and I have a 175w mh light about 16" above the dome. Since this was my first time cloning, and growing for that matter I made an aero cloner just to see what the difference is between the two. I'm using Root Tech gel. Before I even started I soaked the plugs in a Hormex solution at about 5.5-6 ph. I try to spray the clones twice a day and keep the dome damp. I know they like it really humid since they are trying to produce roots. I took 22 clones from my plants and besides ALL the f-n tops dying, I've only had 3 other clones kick the bucket. I hope this helps you diagnose wtf I'm doing wrong. Btw, why are some of my leaves turning yellow?

actually pics would be nice, also leaves turning yellow is normal......but not all of them should be turning yellow, maybe 1 to 3, depending on how many leaves u have. if theyre yellow, i would rip those leaves off

You know what I really don't know why your clones are dying my guess is too much heat? what are your temps like?
Also your leaves should not be turning yellow at all that's a bad sign if they are.
Pictures tell a thousand words.

Not all the leaves are turning yellow, just the bottom two. Geff says this is normal? All the other leaves are green. No new growth just yet though. They aren't all dying on me which leads me to believe they're in the process of growing roots...I just can't see the damn things yet. Anyhow, post some new pics! I'll be following you through your entire cultivation! Cheers!

Im in the process of cloning right now... learned the hard way. Basically yeah its normal for the lower leaves to go yellow. Now they go yellow in order, first the bottom ones and then the top ones. The thing is for the clone to start growing roots before the top ones go yellow. From what ive seen best way to tell is if you see slight growth at the top.
Almost all my clones survive now, and dont use rooting agent. Also have to keep in mind some strains are easier than others to clone. All i do is take the cutting, scrap the lower stemgetting of the top layer to make rooting easier, put in water for 24 hours, then place in very moist soil with very little light and with a glass on top to preserve moisture. Here is a pic of one of my current Great White Shark clones.

So yeah Junkie, a pic would help us a lot in being able to tell whats wrong with your clones

Oh i see, if it's only 1 or 2 leaves turning yellow then it should be fine, but I don't understand why they are dying on you. It seems like you're doing everything right. maybe someone else can help? any takers?

Will be updating soon man glad to have you on board.

Looks good tatan, I agree some strains are easier than others. For example the white rhino strain we have is definitely a PITA to root, but my g13 is always 100% successful.
