White powdery stuff on soil surface...

Hey all,

On a 50/50 mix of FF Ocean Forest and FF Happy Frog I notice white powdery stuff on the topmost dried part of the soil, especially on bark material. It doesn't seem to be affecting my seedlings at all so far, so I'm guessing it's probably some kind of salts like lime deposits? Any thoughts?

here's a pic (sorry about the poor quality)

Hard to see from your pics but it does look like some sort of mold/mildew. I personally would go to new soil. Treat your plant with Seranade if you start seeing signs of it on your plant. You can try to spray Seranade on the soil and see if it goes away. And use Seranade outdoors as it stinks pretty bad.

Try mixing some h202 with water and spraying the soil. The h202 screws up the ph level so the mold or mildew cant grow.

Ok, I used 1 tablespoon of 3% H2O2 in 16 oz. of 6.5 pH water and sprayed that on the surface of the soil and on the seedling in the pic. We'll see how that goes and if all is well I'll do the other seedlings the same way.
