White Paste?uestion

I don't have a camera at the moment, i apologize in advance.
Setup
6x2 table, 400w HPS , 1 small fan, 7x5 veg room,
Benn growing for a year now so i got my nute routine down after a few harvests.

Question:

I recently attempted the task of transplanting clones in soil filled cups to hydroton. They looked to be at least a few weeks old and came in tiny rockwool cubes buried in the soil .

Cleaned the roots/rockwool cubes, then transplanted.

2 days later there's now a white paste buildup on top of the rockwool, is it fungus?

Any help is appreciated, thanks

Salt or mold.. need pic.I just did kinda the same thing grew plants in a solo cup just cut bottom out and pulled some roots thru hydrotron and mesh pot and set in a DWC.Just watered around cup till they hit the nutes

That's what i was thinking also SOMEBEECH.Thanks for the reply.

To get rid of it i scraped the white paste out and covered the lower root system and rockwool cube with a square cut out of PAnda film plastic. Hoping this will elevate the issue.

Also, starting to worry about rez contamination. Hopefully things work out.

Yea need those cubes covered from light.

Thank you for the help guys.

My camera is in and i am going to start documenting what i have going on.

-Pineapple kush (2 weeks veg)
-Sweet Island Skunk(2 1/2 weeks from seed
-Casey Jones (2 weeks veg)
-Agent Orange (2 weeks veg)

Iv been growing for a while now, but i feel it would be beneficial to start sharing my grow with everyone. Iv been lurking this sight for a year now and it would feel nice to contribute something.

Will Update with new thread and link it here soon

for only 2 days i would have a hard time believing it is salts. you would have to have a ppm of 4000+ to get that. it has to be mold or algae from exposure to light.
