If I had a dollar for every undersized plant in a solo cup flowering early, I'd be a millionaire.. but the correlation will never hit.^capllm down, man...it's flowering at 5 nodes tall lol it would have flowered no matter what it was in.
... I used solo cups. There’s a point where I’ve gone too far but 1st two weeks absolutely. Gets a good root system going that u can see (clear cup inside of opaque cup) then when u repot u have a complex root ball that will only grow in complexity and help ur plant grow big. It’s a waste of good soil to drop a seed in 5gal pot. U’ll rinse all ur nutes out b4 the roots get to them. What I find even funnier about this whole solo cup cult is that is bad enough trying to sustain anything bar a seedling in a solo cup full of medium, they then refuse to even fill the solo cup. It's like, how much further do you want to go to handicap your plant. This one isn't too bad, but I've seen plants in half a solo cup worth of drenched medium at week four or five, and the op is asking why it isn't growing. It's like asking why a fish is dying in front of fan.
It gets even funnier when they reply with "I was going to transplant it when it got big enough". They haven't put two and two together yet. It won't get any bigger lol. It's in half a cup. Not even a cup.
Back in my day, people specifically used solo cups when they wanted a tiny plant, nowadays everyone grows in half a solo cup asking why their plants are so small...as information becomes more readily available we should be moving forwards lol.
That's right. I do the same, but in peat pots. I think they are 700ml. They stay in there for about a week, maybe 10 days if it's a slow rooter, and by then the roots are growing out the bottom and burrowing through the sides. Goes into 3-5gal pots when the roots are coming out.... I used solo cups. There’s a point where I’ve gone too far but 1st two weeks absolutely. half a cup tho? Insanity. Def full big size solo cup with a bunch of holes in them, 2 weeks, the clear inside dark cup let’s u check when the roots come to the edge, repot.
You can grow big plants in small containers. What I find even funnier about this whole solo cup cult is that is bad enough trying to sustain anything bar a seedling in a solo cup full of medium, they then refuse to even fill the solo cup. You can, it just takes meticulous watering a feeding. Good work..I'd rather just a water twice a week and forget for the first few weeks. It's all about laziness for me.You can grow big plants in small containers.
Exactly my experience with autos in pots, but I've only grown three. Within a few days of rooting out the bottom, all three autos started to stretch and pop asymmetric nodes. They all hit the bottom and started sending snakes out the drainage holes around day 20-23. It could have just been coincidence though, as autos tend to flower around week three or four regardless. My knowledge of Autos is scant. But I thought, as soon as the tap root hits the bottom of the pot *BOOM* its flowering time!
Solo cups are not the 'usual' option
Instead, you always put autos (from seed) in their 'final' full size pot.
This is coming from someone who only grew them once indoors (never again). imo, they seem more tailored for outside/gorilla grows.
You reckon they are no good to stick in a veg tent of photo plants to fill in the gaps and get some early bud rolling in?This is coming from someone who only grew them once indoors (never again). imo, they seem more tailored for outside/gorilla grows.
Personal size next people will be in K cupsLol what strain is that? U bout to get a tre five off that. I didn’t know they got plants to produce just enuff for a session.
It depends, most of the autos I've grown will fill a 70x70 in six weeks. They aren't necessarily small. This was at six weeks from seed, and almost filled a 2x4 two weeks later. Looking to be sone dank smoke now with a week or so to go. Edit...just realised you probs meant the plants you have, not all autos. They aren't necessarily quicker either, flowering for 9 or more weeks, plus 3 or 4 wks veg.You reckon they are no good to stick in a veg tent of photo plants to fill in the gaps and get some early bud rolling in?
