While waiting for amber trichromes

I have two plants on my first grow. I have been checking the trichromes daily using the radio shack 60-100x scope. Some are clear and some are cloudy. The hairs have pretty much dried up on the top bud, so I thought I would see amber.

While I had the scope out , I decided to look at some high quality bud that I recently came by. Looking at the dried bud, I noticed that some trichromes were clear, some cloudy and some that were shiny and pearl like. I don't know the strain, but it is producing a head and not body high..

Do tricromes change color once dry?

hey cotton, I just finished my crop of the purple diesel and g13 and I had the same questions. The only thing I could find on trichromes was the amber color is more of a light orange, the clear is the very beginning and it turns cloudy, and the blueish-pearly color ones(it's also the microscope focus too (makes them look cloudy)) are the in between period. So it sounds like you have a couple weeks until harvest. You are going to want to wait until the tricrhomes are a 50/50 mix of amber and cloudy. The cloudy is a more uplifting high while the amber is a couch stuck high. I prefer a 40/60 amber percentage because it helps me leave my house. Happy medicating and good luck. post some pics!
