Which will produce a larger yield ?

three 1 gallon pots (3 plants) or just one 3 gallon pot.

the space i am going to be growing in is very tiny about 3x3x3 however i want to maximize my yield.

Would 3 plants with less root room result in a greater yield than 1 plant in a 3 gallon pot?

i figure more small plants would be better because i don't want them to grow too tall. they need to be about 30inches tall at harvest (pot height included) otherwise i'll have to cut em down early.

any tips would be amazing! thanks:blsmoke:

Go with the 3 plants in 1 gallon. If you said 2 plants in 1 gallon vs 1 plant in 3 gallon then it would be worth it imo. With 3 plants you should be able to crop faster square footage wise. It would take awhile for one plant to fill a 3x3 prolly about 2 months or so.

i would go with 6 - 9 x 1 gallon pots and grow them to just under a foot for when you set the 12/12 schedule.

you should easily get an oz per plant depending on your light situation.

if you have a veg area i would even probably start 4 plants every month so theres 8 plants total budding at the same time. this way every month your taking 4 plants out and putting 4 new plants in. thatll give you 4-8 oz every month like clockwork

for real eh? I'm using CFL's btw and I'm going to buy a lot of em. Probably about 10 but that might be too hot so i'll start with 6 or something. How much wattage would be too much for a 3sqft space? and im not going to be a noob and put my CFLs on fixtures i will have em adjustable.

i'm going to wait for a fem and then keep her as the mother. i know mothers veg always but does that mean if shes being vegged for months and months that she'll grow too tall? or should i just take cuttings from the top so she doesn't? i've heard its not smart to take clones from the top though and its better to pick one on the bottom.

if i started 4 plants every month thatd be amazing but from clone to flower stage at this short of a height would only take a couple weeks. so i'd have to veg clones when main plants are a couple weeks from harvest. then take 2 weeks off and then start another 2 week clone veg.

great ideas keep em comin

Oh and I was wondering is it worth it to buy 2700k and 6500k considering the short amount of time they will be in veg...only 2-3 weeks if that

i use both. i just use more 6500k's during veg and more 2700k's during budding.

then there getting the full spectrum.

as for taking clones yes depending on your strain you may have to adjust the time you take the clones. usually plan 2 weeks for the clones to root and id say atleast 2 weeks for them to veg. so every month should work out ok give or take. youll find the right timing you need for your plants as you go.

some root quicker then others.

just remember its better to grow more smaller plants then it is to grow fewer bigger plants when you want a constant flow and as much of it as you can get for the space

as for lights the 26w ones i use can get decently hot so i would imagine the 42w would get that much hotter. depeing on ur space size it may be better to go with more 26w then a few 42w. i was planning on getting some 42w but after seeing how the 26w ones are doing i really dont think i need to. i like the 26w bulbs i can place them all around the plant and with the fan they dont get hot at all. heres a pic of my lights around my plant. just getting started thats why its a bit empty :)

realistically tho if you wanna grow properly i would invest in a proper light. for that space itll take so many cfl bulbs it would have probabaly cost the same. i just ordered a 600w digital ballast light kit for my closet for that reason. for you 3'x3' a 400 watter would do you well and there going for 120$ even for a digital one.

check ebay they have lots

thanks for the tips as for the HPS but i'm not looking to spend lots of money on this grow. CFLs are less than 10 dollars and im not looking to spend more money on stronger intake/exhaust to keep it cool in that tiny grow space.

CFLs eliminate the heat issue..as well as the need for loud fans and such

if you have fuckall space mate try the SOG (sea of green) method works bloddy well.

peace
not too familiar with SOG isn't that just where you put the plants in small test tubes or something like that and then you can fit more plants into a small area?

seems the same as using 1 gallon pots to me..they really are quite tiny.

in SOG you can put the plants in 1 gal pots you just have a bunch of small plants in an area rather than a few big ones. Also I hear it helps a lot if you focus the plants on one single kola rather than spreading them out into a bunch of smaller nugs; helps to conserve space.

its all realitive but if you do more smaller plants and flower them out quickly instead of growing larger ones you will be done faster and be able to set up your next wave faster so in that sense over time the smaller ones will yield better because you can prob get 2 more grows out of a year that way
