Done this a lot. Here's what I do.... You want the tap roots to grow away from the seed caps, right? I use a Styrofoam plate and put down 2 layers of paper towel. Use a toothpick and put it into the "neck" where the tap root emerges from the seed. Using another 'pick pry the root away from the seed and stick the toothpick to make it solid. Cut the toothpicks down to 1/2 inch and cover all with 2 more paper towels. Spray everything wet and seal in big baggie for 12-24 hours. Your seedlings should then be grown enough to be able to TP safely. Good luck, BigSteve.

In nature, little birds do not come along and orient seeds certain ways. The seeds take care of themselves without anyone manipulating their position, so just drop the buggers in soil and let nature take its course.

Nor do seeds land on moist paper towels, they land on soil.
