Which way up ?

Hi all you ladies and gents out there , this is my first post so please be kind to me He He.
I have read as much as i can about germinating seeds, this is my 2nd grow and the 1st one was with cuttings i got from someone, but there is a differance on all the growing sites some say when the seed has put a root, to plant in in rock wool with the new root at the bottom and others say put the root to the top.
Which is best or does it not matter ?
Regards....

It doesn't matter what way you plant seeds, it can detect up and down from gravity. You can always use Google and find reliable sites to gather information. Anyone that states you have to point a seed up or down is falling victim to perpetuated myths... Do you think farmers are concerned which way their thousands of seeds are pointed?

In fact, contrary to the previous poster's vast knowledge on the subject, I've seen plenty of tap roots go up, do a 180 and go down, and then the leaves emerge upside down, pointing down, not up. the plant does this so it can drag the seed husk through the soil and remove it from the cotyledons. If you point the root down, the plant will push the seed through the soil and will emerge with the seed showing, possibly stuck to a leaf. If you point up, the plant will emerge without the husk, more than likely.

the ones telling you to point a seed a certain way are retarded or are fucking with you.

that is exactly 180 degrees retraction from your original statement.

I plant pointing up too, but if one slips and turns the other way, I'm not going to risk harming it to turn it around. Either way, if the seed is viable, she'll grow... (we'll hope it is a 'she' anyways) :)

DUDE just make sure the plants have plenty of heat..don't bake em but have them a little on the warm side also remember this man THE PLANT THAT YOU ARE GROWING IS A WEED...Much like the ones that yu see outside in yur yard it just needs a little extra care and sometimes none at all.. it really doesn't matter if yu follow everyone else's protocol since what may row their boat may sink yurs...REMEMBER THAT
