I will try the frog/OF side by side with the light warrior/OF, with clones that are the same size from the same plant and see how it goes...

in terms of the soil, i understand the concept of pH however should i also take into account the N-P-K levels in the soil i'm buying or should i worry about that more with the fertilizer? please help, i'm new

Best bet is buy miracle grow potting mix with already added nutes.Water with clean, non chlorinated water and set the ph to about 7.6-7.8 and water with that ph rating for the first few weeks and start slowly lowering it down until you have your desired ph level" 6.6-6.8" but you need a ph tester that can test soil or the water from the soil u can get one for 20$ up to 500+$.miracle grow soil is not bad its but its not the best if you dont want to drop 20-30$ on a bag of soil its the way to go plus you need ph tester for indoors anyway, well you dont have too but it will really help:weed:

Awsome thanks, I'm not really concerned about the price of the soil. One last question though. I've heard it's best to get certain fertilizers or soil with N-P-K levels for vegetating period(high in nitrogen)and then change it to something with higher phosphorus and potassium levels for the flowering period. If this is true, how would I go about do this(changing the soil or fertilizer that is)?

Yes and no,yes you want higher nitrogen and lower phos for veg,but you want to also have supple nitrogen when you increase the phos during flower.Seasonal changes have most of the effect but the nutrient levels are what fatten it up but want a goos mixture off nutes you dont want to spike one or the other:weed:

Just bought a 10 dollar bag of Plant-tone Organic potting soil. How well do you think that would work?

Light Warrior for starting seedlings; and FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil for 3 weeks until you start feeding.

i would use the patio plus soil from at home depot. last grow that is what i used and it worked out great. pure worm casting though is the best to grow in:joint:

I have 5gl buckets that seem to stay at 7.0 PH how do i go about getting them to 6.5? Im watering with 6.0-6.5 water. The soil is 30%sandy loam topsoil-30% forest humas and 40% perlite.I assume the humas is keeping it at 7.0.Any suggestions? Flushing 10-15 buckets seems to be too much. Thanks

if you grew in pure worm castings your plants would burn up and die. worm castings is an excellent organic soil amendment, but you couldn't grow in it any better than you could grow in pure bat guano. sorry friend.

peatmoss will lower your ph over time quite a bit.Ive never used that mix,but if you do you will want to add Dolomite Lime at 2 tsp per gallon of soil to keep your ph in check.
Good Luck :peace:

that kellog brand that they carry at home depot has a good mix. it contains bat guano, earthworm castings, seabird fertilizer, coco fiber, gypsum, perlite and a bunch of other shit.

and a only $4 a bag you can't go wrong.
it has basically everything that the "Roots" brand organic soil mix has at 1/4 the price.

I've tried alot of different ones and I have had the best results with fox farms ocean forest but that dosen't mean theres not a better one out there.
